Enables customers to build their own reports, but performance could be better
The most important criterion when selecting a vendor is reliability. I would give this solution a seven out of 10. It does some good stuff, but there needs to be more performance. Make sure that you have really good people working on the server administration, to make sure you're doing it right, the setup is right.

Daily invoice analytics has become streamlined and complex data modeling is now simplified
We are not using analytics features and possibly predictive analytics and forecasting features in QlikView, although they are available. QlikView is very flexible, but we are currently using only tabular presentation of data because that is what we need. Presenting a large volume of data in QlikView with graphics can be overwhelming for the majority of people who want to see a lot of information in one picture. It would be beneficial to have AI or ML features in QlikView. However, I think they will decommission QlikView, and AI features are already available in Qlik Sense, so you would need to migrate to that platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"People really like the way the reports look, there are lots of fancy bells and whistles on the report designer."
"Self-service reporting modules allow customers to build their own reports."
"A must have for the business looking to understand their processes in an easy to consume way"
"Rapid development and deployment of solutions with low-cost server-based licensing is attractive in high user count environments."
"Uniformization of KPIs across all departments brings efficacy and effectiveness to coworkers in problem solving."
"QlikView’s associative model is a fantastic design that enabled the Green/White/Grey feature, which greatly helped us highlight the relationship between different kinds of data."
"Customer service and support from QlikView South Africa is first rate."
"Its ability to build, very quickly, very complicated models."
"It allows our company to view all of our data in a single solution and it is easy to use, even for novice users."
"I had used other solutions, but they didn’t give me the kind of reporting and analysis I got from QlikView."
"With the solutions of QlikTech, we are able to provide management with requested reports with proven data within a short time."
"Data integration capabilities are quite good; you can integrate any information stored anywhere in different systems with QlikView."

Cons

"The only feature I would like to see at this point is a normalized curve for Histograms"
"It needs a much lower price. They are jacking up the price every year, which is wrong."
"Performance dependant on back-end much more than some other toolsets."
"Although we were able to gain insight into our organization, the pricing and performance of the system were too great to overcome."
"The performance can be improved."
"We wanted to upgrade to version 12 but had two models that were not reloading as expected and had to revert."
"Their pricing structure doesn’t match their aggressiveness either, costing an end user $1500 for a web-based license."
"In QlikView 11, there is a password for the section of code, but there is no user management with a password that allows access to data when opening the file."
"QlikView should have a connector or a specific product to allow people outside of the company or that don’t have a license to read/use the application (a kind of reader license)."
"Predictive analysis is an area with room for improvement."
"Error handling."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It needs a much lower price. They are jacking up the price every year, which is wrong."
"QlikView pricing and licensing is on the high side for a small sized company, but it's competitive among its peers."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one being low price and ten being high price, I rate pricing a four."
"It has an annual license. It is expensive as compared to other competitive tools that do more for less. In South African rands, we pay about 100,000 to 200,000 a year."
"Qlik is fairly high in terms of pricing."
"I rate QlikView's pricing a five out of ten."
"The pricing is moderate, in the medium price range."
"The setup costs for QlikView are fair as are the yearly maintenance fees. The licensing becomes a bit more expensive and requires some planning for onboarding."
"Its licensing costs are moderate, but it can get expensive due to the numerous add-ons available like those for printing."
