Unified directory and device management has streamlined remote workforce security and onboarding
JumpCloud can be improved in several areas. Some users feel the initial configuration can be complex, especially for larger organizations, and better guided onboarding could be helpful. Additionally, while its reporting and integrations are strong, more granular and customizable metrics and real-time alerts would be beneficial for advanced use cases. From my team's perspective, there is often a desire for even more intuitive administrative controls, particularly when managing complex policy sets. Enhanced integrations with specific industry-specific applications could provide even greater efficiency. It is about refining the user experience and expanding compatibility. Another area for potential enhancement could be customer support and resources. While generally good, faster response times and more comprehensive or specialized documentation could further improve the user experience, especially during complex deployments.

Has migrated user mailboxes and collaboration data with minimal challenges
I'm currently working with On Demand Migration solution from Quest. I am providing feedback regarding my experience with On Demand Migration. I have used automated scheduling in On Demand Migration. I can run immediate migration or schedule it as per my convenience, but I have used the run immediately option because I needed it on an urgent basis. The effectiveness of On Demand Migration detailed reporting in managing migration progress is quite good, as there is a report option where I can see what migration got successfully completed, which failed, and even the problem ID and event ID, allowing me to troubleshoot easily on the demand portal. I have not explored the data filtering options. I have not explored data filtering for filtering the data. In terms of data security, we are using independent DLP for data protection in our organization. I have not explored features such as AI functionality or additional security aspects, as I have explored only On Demand Migration for mailbox, Teams chat, Teams channel, and OneDrive. For O365 to O365, it's a very good and easy tool, so I can recommend anyone using O365 to O365 tenant migration to go with On Demand Migration. My overall rating for this product is 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Azure Cloud services are on time and run well and if we use a JumpCloud, the benefits we receive are the ease of management and the solution is completely user-friendly. End users can do identity management easily."
"Jumpcloud has benefited our organization by showing us we don't have to have a Microsoft environment."
"As a cloud-based directory, JumpCloud allows me to integrate nearly every system I have come across that supports SAML 2.0. That's a specific technology that allows different services to integrate for user authentication and identification purposes. That means that with JumpCloud, I can then have one single password. Single sign-on for a particular user that works with VPN, radius authentication for WiFi, logging into Office 365, and their email. Their individual computers use that same password. It's extensible which allows us to tie in customers' security systems. We don't have to provision a new user, 12 different places with 12 different passwords. I only have to create them once and assign them privileges."
"The good thing about JumpCloud is having something where in a single tool, I can manage everything: users, groups, their permissions, their different applications, integrations, and the devices."
"The usual authentication and authorization, which were all controlled into one portal, are very convenient."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"A key positive impact JumpCloud has on my organization is significant time savings, and by centralizing user and device management, IT teams can reduce the time spent on manual tasks, potentially freeing up 20 to 30 percent of their time."
"The UI is intuitively easy to use. It is easy to set up a user. I have found the group management to be pretty simple. You can group users, then assign them to groups of systems, and that relationship allows us to ease the management burden."
"We can see the issues that may come up during migration. We can handle multiple workloads using this since it connects with Microsoft 365."
"We can easily and simply work out the cost for any migration work that is required with the licensing model."
"It's very easy to use. What I like is that if there is an error, for each task, I can find out what actually went wrong."
"It has made my life easier."
"Quest allows you to customize your migration. For example, you can opt only to migrate Microsoft Teams and the related data or you can migrate all of Office 365. You can also choose to migrate accounts and mailboxes. Sometimes, we don't want to migrate SharePoint data, or we only want to migrate specific users."
"The bottom line is that using On Demand Migration results in less effort for my customers to bring data over or to work with the data at a new location."
"I don't think there's another tool in the market that covers the same scope that it covers."
"The greatest asset is its nature as a SaaS product, offering exceptional scalability and flexibility, which are invaluable to us."

Cons

"I would like AWS to integrate more cloud platforms with JumpCloud, such as Alibaba or Oracle."
"JumpCloud could improve by providing more features. They are only giving the three standard features, such as SSO radius. I would like there to be multi-tenant features. For example, my colleague is from a different organization, and he's using different applications and I'm using different applications, I wanted to access his applications and database with my JumpCloud credentials. However, since it is a multi-tenant instance. I would like it to be open-ended where we can gather all these multi-level organizations to put in a single domain to access one authentication for all the different applications."
"JumpCloud could improve the compatibility with other devices and operating systems. For example, the solution only works well with Mac and some Linux devices. It does not work for mobile devices, such as Android."
"For improvement, the tool should introduce more customization options."
"A nice feature called patch management with different kinds of licensing is not included in JumpCloud."
"I would like to see some support for printers, especially network printers, through the application."
"The sync speed between the JumpCloud instance and the agent could be improved."
"JumpCloud can be improved in several areas."
"In terms of Microsoft Teams, the only disappointment for us has been how the chats are migrated."
"Quest On Demand Migration needs to simplify its migration with Microsoft."
"Their support interface is not so great because you need to go through several links before you can raise the ticket. Sometimes the interface freezes up, and there is some downtime. They give us some notice. It says at the top of the interface that there will be scheduled maintenance in a given region or there is currently an outage. You can see upcoming downtime in the portal and plan accordingly."
"They could provide on-premises to online exchange components for the platform. It would be highly valuable."
"We had some issues with migrating Teams."
"They should introduce a module for migrating power automation for users."
"The granting of consent for doing the different tasks is confusing."
"One significant issue that often elicited complaints during domain migration was the need to set the primary UPN for objects once they were migrated to the target."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"JumpCloud's monthly license costs around $25 for the complete solution."
"I rate the product's pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"JumpCloud offers several subscription plans as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider. The pricing is based on the number of users and the services that are required, meaning that you only pay for what you consume and don't have to pay for services that you don't need. When compared to other solutions, JumpCloud can actually be more cost-effective, as it eliminates the need to hire a team, purchase hardware, pay for licenses and software, and worry about updates, security, and backups. Thus, it offers a more efficient and cost-effective solution for managing your needs."
"I am pretty sure that the cost to acquire JumpCloud is less. They have à la carte or per-user pricing. The pricing is there on their webpage. I am not sure if they have any enterprise pricing or discounts if you have more users. But the overall pricing is less than Okta."
"The cost of the solution is approximately $12 per user. However, the cost depends on what modules you're using. They have an all-in-one package and they do have tiers. For example, the more users you have, the cheaper it ends up being in the end too. I know they've done some changes to the pricing model and I haven't been involved in a lot of the licensing lately. I don't know the exact cost at this time."
"The cost was around $5 per user per month."
"The solution is pretty expensive."
"The pricing is all on the JumpCloud website. It's not hidden, you don't have to go through a show me a quote type procedure. The pricing is straightforward to understand."
"The product had reasonable pricing until the beginning of this year. Now, the price is increased by 20%."
"I find the pricing to be cost-efficient for what you receive with the Quest product."
"We are fine with the tool's pricing."
"I thought On Demand Migration would be more expensive. I'm pleased with the cost that was quoted."
"The solution is on the more expensive side, when you compare it not only to BitTitan but to other tools in the cloud market. Of course, you receive things like Quest's support organization."
"It is quite cheap. Previously, I used to work for a big company, and they get quite a good deal, and now, I'm working for a small company, and even they get quite a good deal. So, its pricing is quite fair."
"It is more than fair for what you get."
"The pricing is in line with other products."
