Robust multidimensional database has enabled smooth API integrations and modern data workflows
I think InterSystems IRIS is a continuation of the Caché legacy. Since I have been working with it since 2005 with Caché, I think it is a really amazing tool. It is a very robust and very scalable database. It is very good to work with, and I am already used to working with it. Where it falls a bit short is in the availability of manpower and professionals who work with InterSystems IRIS or Caché. There are few professionals who work with it. Another thing is the cost and the license cost. I think there could be some kind of package that could serve smaller companies and small and medium-sized companies. That would reach a larger slice of the market, because the cost to work with Caché, InterSystems IRIS, and so on is high. I would make this remark about putting together a package and a new product that could serve small and medium-sized companies. The area where InterSystems IRIS falls a bit short is in the cost and the licensing cost. The licensing cost is the main issue I have already mentioned.

Has improved data security and automation while supporting large-scale storage and migration
I do not use the Global Reach feature. Regarding metrics and performance, I don’t recall the exact performance metrics, but we use ETL processes to monitor and manage migration performance and data quality. Oracle Database Cloud Service is strong for data management and storage, as well as for its security features and automation of data dumps and archiving. Overall, Oracle Database Cloud Service is a solid product. It’s well-suited for financial platforms. Oracle provides both its on-premises and cloud-based suites, and the company continues to evolve, offering more components for data storage, data management, and integration with other tools and SaaS solutions. I plan to continue using Oracle Database Cloud Service, particularly for managing SaaS tools in financial contexts.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best features InterSystems IRIS offers, in my experience, include being a really powerful engine and a really good database."
"InterSystems IRIS has had a positive impact on my organization by improving performance and data security."
"In my opinion, the best features that InterSystems IRIS offers are its very optimized database, which I found amazing, and the observability it provides for checking messages and how the data is being transferred, which I find very interesting."
"My final observation is that everyone should use InterSystems IRIS; it is an amazing tool on the market."
"Data storage is the most valuable feature of Oracle Database Cloud Service."
"It is a very stable program."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Database Cloud Service are its scalability, advanced technology, cost-effectiveness, and the flexibility it provides with licensing."
"Oracle DCS's most valuable features are its high availability and scalability."
"Oracle Database Cloud Service is good for managing data and storage, and also with the security and automation of the dump and graduate data."
"Some advantages of Oracle Database Cloud Service are its availability, performance, and affordability."
"I am impressed with the product's partitioning and advanced data card."
"Technically, this is a very, very, good product or database, whether on-premises or on the cloud."

Cons

"I cannot determine a very positive impact or a beneficial result from InterSystems IRIS, although this observability part is important because we were able to find problems much faster."
"The area where InterSystems IRIS falls a bit short is in the cost and the licensing cost."
"Python support can be enhanced further, as it's really clunky at the moment, considering that the use of Python is pretty much all over the world and nobody knows ObjectScript really thoroughly and deeply."
"InterSystems IRIS can be improved by addressing the lack of libraries, mainly mathematical ones, where we would save a lot of time on some formulas that we have to build by hand every time we need them."
"Oracle Database Cloud Service is a good engine and at the moment, there isn't any new feature I can think of that I'd like added to the service. The only problem I see in Oracle Database Cloud Service is it's more commercial, so it has a relation to how it deals with customers. I don't feel secure in a deal with Oracle because that team changes the conditions each year, and there's no representative from the team that talks to my company about new needs. Oracle needs to improve its relationship with customers and partners in general."
"In my opinion, the price of Oracle Database Cloud Service should be more affordable. Additionally, the interface of the application could be more user-friendly."
"The implementation process could be easier for customers."
"Oracle should work on the solution's compatibility issues with the operating system."
"The initial setup is a bit complex for the beginner, so you need a little technical experience to install it."
"The availability of different editions within Oracle Database Cloud Service could be improved."
"We're actually going through licensing issues and are looking to perhaps changing to another solution, something that is perhaps open-source."
"Oracle Database Cloud Service has room for improvement in handling large-scale applications."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Every year we are increasing the price of the solution. There is hardware licensing available. We pay approximately $20,000 monthly to use the solution."
"The product has reasonable pricing. I rate its pricing a nine out of ten."
"I think the program is rather expensive, so I would like to see it becoming more affordable."
"The tool is not cheap."
"Price is always higher for all Oracle products."
"Pricing for Oracle Database Cloud Service could be more competitive. Lately, pricing for it has been increasing, so my company may have to review different options to find a solution with competitive pricing. From what I know, there's no additional cost apart from the standard licensing fees for Oracle Database Cloud Service."
