Automated threat detection has protected our organization and saves significant investigation time
HYAS Protect offers everything on a single page. There is not a huge number of options, so it is reduced and made to be easy to use. The ease of use with HYAS Protect has saved our time in finding solutions very easily. HYAS Protect has impacted my organization positively because there were many investigation and threat investigation applications available. There are options, but when it comes to HYAS Protect, it is easier and it is competitive. HYAS Protect has reduced the time spent on investigations because many engineers need to investigate issues, but it has reduced that time with its automation feature.

Centralized DNS security has simplified subnet policies and now protects users across networks
The scheduled report feature for Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense needs improvement. The scheduled reports are sent with a standardized template from Infoblox. It would be highly beneficial if we had customization options for the scheduled reports. This is a key feature that many enterprise customers would be seeking, especially when they need to present reports to management. The reports should include pie charts or bar graphs indicating what traffic is coming and going through the system. Those chart types and drill-down details are also essential for the IT team. We need more customized reports that can provide different reports for the management team and for the IT team. The current reports are available but are not as helpful as customers need. We are currently dedicating logs manually and doing this as a service for our customers, but this should be handled by Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense. Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense is a bit expensive.

Pros

"HYAS Protect has impacted my organization positively because there were many investigation and threat investigation applications available, but when it comes to HYAS Protect, it is easier and it is competitive."
"When it comes to helping to detect DNS threats, BloxOne is good on all fronts; the number of false positives is very low, close to none, and more than once it has detected new names or lookalike names and protected us and saved us from bad characters."
"Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense furthers the existing security posture rather than replacing or trying to replace any existing products."
"Overall, Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense is a wonderful tool—one of the best we have used for DNS security, and if any enterprise needs such a solution, they should definitely consider this product to find value in the platform."
"Overall, I would rate the Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense as 8.5 out of 10."
"With the model we have, we are able to scale very easily if we need to."
"I find all the features of Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense, including asset discovery as well as DNS security, most valuable."
"Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense provides the best dashboard review, where analysts can see everything visualized in an effective way, such as blocked DNS requests, the most targeted users, suspicious domains list, and threat categories, and the executive report summary is also fantastic."
"The most valuable feature is policy redirecting and security reports."

Cons

"By adding more automation features, HYAS Protect can be improved."
"The integration of threat intelligence with other solutions is challenging. If I want to expose threat intelligence, I cannot do it via taxi services. I have to call the API, but the customers are not into creating the APIs. The integration of embedded threat intelligence with other platforms should be better. Infoblox should work on this, and it should be easier for the end user to integrate it. It is very easy to deploy this solution. We should be able to integrate it with other platforms, such as the Next-Generation Firewall, with the same ease."
"The documentation needs to be improved because there are a lot of different models that it can be deployed in, and it's somewhat confusing determining what you need and how to set it up to best cover your use cases."
"We would like to see more reporting capabilities that are now offered only with the on-premises reporting appliance."
"The product is slightly more expensive compared to other DNS solutions."
"The policy in Infoblox BloxOne Threat Defense is something complex; that needs to be simpler because it's difficult for someone without a high skill level to understand."
"A lot of their documentation needs improvement."
"The integration of embedded threat intelligence with other platforms should be better."
"They could work on the UI of their website and make their website more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The licensing is set up such that you pay for the number of active users that you're defending at the moment."
"It's a pricey solution because it's for the advanced kind of customer."
"When you buy the subscription, there are no additional costs to add any additional buttons."
"There is a significant charge for this product but I think that it's worth it when we look at what it's able to prevent."
"If you only wanted the DNS filtering and none of the other products built into Threat Defense, it would be nicer if they could do that a la carte since we are not really using a lot of the solution."
"Infoblox BloxOne offers pretty good documentation. Check its documentation, then do a PoC. Infoblox is very good at providing PoCs."
"It is a very expensive system. You need to go over the licensing before purchase to make sure you're getting what is needed, not anything extra."
