We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The SD-WAN feature is the most valuable. This feature evolved from link load balancing. It has helped us in terms of our uptime and privatizing applications whenever we experience an outage. The SD-WAN feature has been a plus for us. Two-factor authentication has allowed us to add more users in terms of remote working. We have two-factor authentication for remote workers to authenticate them before they get on the network.""The product is easy to use and is stable. The SV1 functionality is a benefit.""The application control features, such as Facebook blocking and Spotify blocking, are the most valuable.""Their reliability and their policy of pre-shipping replacements when a unit has failed.""Some of the valuable features are the firewall, IPS, web filter, and gateway capabilities. Additionally, it is easy to use and flexible.""Fortinet FortiGate has many valuable features, such as IDS, and intrusion detection. It has security features that are in part with the technologies that are available in the market.""Offers good security and filtering.""One of the nice things about FortiGate is that it can be deployed on the cloud or on-premises. You can actually do both. That's the biggest reason why I stick with this solution as opposed to something like Cisco Meraki. Another nice thing is that I can log directly into a FortiGate or get to it through their FortiCloud access products. They're pretty reliable and consistent. One of the reasons why I started using the product was their single pane of management. I can deploy their line of firewalls in conjunction with their switching and access points, and I can manage the entire network from one interface. I don't have to log into one interface for the firewall, another one for the access points, and another one for the switches. These firewalls have access point controller functionality built right into the system, so I don't even have to purchase additional devices to manage them."

"It enables us to configure different policies and restrictions for specific users within the same subnet.""Huawei was able to assist us in the installation of their product. The installation was very fast.""The most useful feature is the performance of the firewalls and networking operations.""The tool helps us to integrate with other brands.""The UI is quite good.""Huawei support is excellent. I rate it 10 out of 10.""The user interface is very, very good.""The mapping features and traffic logging are good."

"The firewall feature has different branches, such as extended firewalls.""We consider the user level and control features of Sophos Cyberoam UTM to be the best.""The security capabilities are okay.""The solution has good load balancers.""The port forwarding is good.""The product is worth the investment.""We are using it as a security shield. It does not allow access before that in case we have restricted a few things from users, so it helps me in that.""I like Sophos Cyberoam UTM as a security component or device for organizations. Performance-wise, it's a satisfactory solution, and it works okay. It also has good features."

Cons
"The support structure needs to be improved because every time we contact them, there is a delay in the response.""The visibility of the network can be better. The GUI can be improved for better visibility of the network flow. Other solutions have better GUI in terms of network visibility.""One of the problems I was having was with user mapping, and it is an issue for which I have escalated tickets with Fortinet support.""There are some problems that support cannot give you a logical reason as to why it happened. For example, I had a case where I was dealing with a WhatsApp application that was giving issues. Technical support gave more than one reason it could be giving issues, but none of them solved the problem. Eventually I solved the problem, but it was far from the solutions that support had given.""I think the only issue that needs improvement is the interface.""It is quite new for us, and we need to go more in-depth into the monitoring tools. It provides different features that we need to do what we want. So far, it is okay for us. In terms of improvement, in the future, they can provide a faster implementation of features. Some of the features are first available in other solutions. Fortinet sometimes takes a little bit longer than other solutions, such as Check Point, to implement new features.""Fortinet FortiGate needs to improve the logging and reporting. Additionally, the next-generation application's policies should be improved. When they were released they had bugs.""Sometimes you do need to know some CLI commands, so it's a bit harder for technicians or new people that don't know it."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"The solution does not have sandboxing features.""The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now.""The solution could be cheaper.""The solution isn't cheap. It's market price.""The tool does not have web functionality. It needs to also have high end firewalls.""One issue is integration. Huawei can't detect Indicators of Compromise (IoC). I can get a lot of information about security, but can't automatically input the EP, domain URL, and file hashes I get from Hackersworld into my blocklist.""The documentation needs to be improved. When they retire old models, they also retire the documentation. However, if you are still using an older model, you still need access to that documentation. And yet, they go ahead and removed it. It's gone. You are therefore stuck with a device with no documentation and technical support that isn't very helpful as they also remove support assistance as well.""I would like to see an antivirus solution included with the product."

More Huawei NGFW Cons →

"On-box sandstorm should be available. As of now, it is from their cloud.""The VPN needs to be improved.""The product is at its end-of-life. There is nothing to improve as it will be discontinued.""The solution had a feature to import users from a CSV file. However, the latest version does not have that option.""The Traffic Discovery feature should allow administrators to disconnect unnecessary live connections.""I had an issue when I was trying to stop a user from using too much bandwidth while I was using Azure, I was not able to stop them.""When it comes to web filtering and application filtering, it does not contain enough signatures to determine all of the sites that need to be blocked.""Sophos Cyberoam UTM has room for improvement in specific rules-based objects and redesign. The solution also needs to improve in adding rules and policies, including renewing and finding policies."
