Good automation and analytics, but is costly
The report model was our main concern. I believe currently the solution uses a third party for the reporting. As part of a consulting firm, one of the challenges we face is the difficulty in producing reports that meet the expectations of our clients and customers. It would be beneficial if the focus could be shifted toward improving the reporting aspect. The impact report is a crucial aspect, as we only have one opportunity to create it. Galvanize HighBond can improve by generating more impact reports post-project, and allowing access to the reports using a web version, which would greatly benefit us. The cost of the solution is expensive and needs improvement.

Automates compliance management effectively but needs improved interface and dashboards
The tool basically automates whatever processes you already have, so I cannot specify improvements in that regard. However, my main issue with Archer is the graphics. The graphics have always been lacking. I always need to depend on another tool to read information from Archer to have better dashboards. It is like using Linux, and it has a Linux mindset and interface. I want to use Archer for top management and CEOs, but it looks too technical, and the dashboards are not really friendly. They are bulky, like opening an old Nintendo system from nineteen-ninety. The management agrees that Archer lacks in terms of presentation and dashboarding. It is complex, not user-friendly, and bulky. The interface just looks old.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is automation."
"One of the useful features is the ability to connect to various systems in order to accommodate data."
"Solution is scalable."
"It is enterprise-wide accessible. So, it is very helpful for all the employees in our bank. They can log in and do their risk management activities. It has a few inbuilt modules that are helpful for doing risk management activities, such as issue management, risk identification, risk assessment, and policy exception management. It also has some inbuilt workflows inside these modules. They are also helpful."
"The solution has helped our organization manage our internal and external activities."
"From my perspective, because I've always done it as a consultant, I do like the way it is configured. They've gone into changing the application builder interface, so it is even easier. When you're working with users, it is really easy to show them how to do things quickly and how to configure, change, and design stuff quickly."
"Risk management is one of the most impressive features of Archer, especially with the recent restructuring of the user interface."
"The most valuable part of the product is the ease-of-use and the opportunity to create custom security applications easily."
"First of all, its access control feature where it provides application level access, solution level access, and even recall access, as well."

Cons

"The cost of the solution is expensive and needs improvement."
"The bullet chart is the best graph for my purposes, and it should be available for inclusion in the dashboards."
"The solution can be a little slow due to the Silverlight feature."
"Slow turnaround time from support team."
"When we have to do formulas or some other type of calculation in Archer, it sometimes doesn't work correctly. The fields don't display right, and we have to contact RSA Archer support to fix things. I think the calculation components are a bit complicated."
"It would be useful for customers if COBIT 2019 could be translated into different languages."
"The interface just looks old."
"It's resource-hungry, that's the best way of putting it."
"There were so many problems that we had found. One time, the search index was not working. We also faced slowness in Archer, but I resolved this issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I give the cost of the solution a six out of ten."
"The price of the solution is very affordable."
"The solution is not at all a cheap product."
"The solution's price should be reduced. You only have to pay the license and there are no additional fees."
"The solution’s pricing is moderate."
"The license is costly for the solution, but the remaining set up and maintenance is quite cheaper."
"I am not sure about other companies, but it's quite expensive."
"The initial purchase is cheap. You pay a nominal price to start then renew the license annually. You also must buy a license for each module. I'm not too fond of that aspect of the licensing model. You buy the elephant and then spend more money to feed the elephant."
"The pricing is okay. The licensing costs are very reasonable; it is very affordable to us."
