Collects valuable endpoint data with good analytics and helpful scalability
This is a question for the partners who implement and install it. I am not involved in the implementation process, so I cannot suggest improvements. As mentioned, this is a query for my presales team, not me. I am part of the security team lead, focusing mainly on sales. Regarding the product, Fortinet could consider reducing the minimum order quantity for EDR, currently set at 500 pieces. In smaller markets like Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Slovenia, it can be challenging to find customers with 500 endpoints. My suggestion to Fortinet would be to lower this minimum order quantity to one.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is stable and scalable."
"Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance."
"The product's initial setup phase is very easy."
"The data collected from the endpoint where the EDR is installed is highly valuable for me."
"It's easy to configure and integrate the solution with the current network because it is used by Fortinet clients."
"I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment."
"The most valuable features of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response are all the features. The features have all helped us and most recently malware has been an issue in our company and malware protection has been effective."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is a stable solution."
"We have a central console and from there you can monitor all workstations via an agent."
"The solution provides high-end security that is critical for financial institutions and bankers."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is an effective protection solution."
"The detection engine running on endpoints works very well and provides a good protection level."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert offers centralized monitoring where we can monitor everything from a single point. I also like its security and network traffic features."
"The most valuable feature is Endpoint's management."

Cons

"In smaller markets like Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Slovenia, it can be challenging to find customers with 500 endpoints. My suggestion to Fortinet would be to lower this minimum order quantity to one."
"The solution is not stable."
"The control of scripts could be improved because you use Microsoft Active Directory and unnecessary scripts to keep the roles updated with company policies."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"They should include XDR features in the solution."
"We'd like to see them improve the automatic response."
"It does not cover all of our security issues."
"If a customer wants to use Kaspersky on-prem, they'll need to spend a lot on the hardware. Their server must be strong because EDR is a heavy product. You need excellent hardware to run it. It might make sense to deploy the solution in the cloud. If they add features, it will only make the product heavier and increase the hardware costs."
"The Kaspersky console could be easier to navigate and generate reports from."
"The solution lacks DLP."
"I am not happy with Kaspersky's support since basic support is very cool unless you pay for some advanced support, in which you get better responses and feedback from Kaspersky's team."
"An area for improvement in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is its technical support because currently, technical support is delayed."

"I know it is tough to get big budget additions up front, but I highly recommend deploying environment wide and adding the forensic service."
"I'm not familiar with pricing, but it looks a bit costly compared to other vendors I think."
"Fortinet FortiEDR has a yearly subscription."
"The hardware costs about €100,000 and about €20,000 annually for access."
"There are no issues with the pricing."
"The solution’s pricing is okay."
"If one is cheap, ten is expensive, I rate the product’s price as a seven out of ten, especially if I compare it with CrowdStrike."
"The price of the solution could be reduced."
"The solution's cost is reasonable compared to other vendors."
"The price of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is in the middle range compared to competitors. The pricing model is based on the users using the solutions. The cost for us is approximately 2200 Algerian dinars. The price of the solution could be reduced."
