Find out in this report how the two Firewalls solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."Their reliability and their policy of pre-shipping replacements when a unit has failed."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a stable solution."
"The ability to set up remote systems is the most valuable feature."
"I am "headache free" that I don't have to categorize all the websites and that security has been pre categorized by the people, and that the services are getting updated. At least one part of my problem is over."
"Fortigate's most valuable feature is that it doesn't need a push policy when writing rules."
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are the APIs. They are the most widely known."
"The flexibility and ease of configuration are the most valuable features."
"Some of the key features of the solution is that it has good reporting, you can receive many details from the connection, for example, clients and website information."
"We like the scalability of Forcepoint because with the Forcepoint NGFW solution, we can scale anything. The solution has central management, so we can manage all the branches and devices centrally in one controller."
"The central security management center and the content management center are very good."
"One of the most valuable features is having the ability to cluster multiple firewalls even if they are different versions."
"Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall is very simple, easy to use, and flexible."
"The initial setup is very easy."
"It is a scalable product. I know a customer who has deployed more than 4,000 firewalls in a single deployment."
"When comparing this solution to others this one has better reporting, user management, and is easy to use."
"I like the IPS. IPS is the master feature. I depend on the firewall and sandbox."
"The product is extremely intuitive."
"We use Sophos UTM as our main firewall with all its features included. Mainly, it controls all of our network perimeter security: firewall, IDS/IPS, and web application firewall (including VoIP)."
"Brings greater visibility into the network traffic coming inside and passing away from the company."
"The packet filtering's great. You get out what you put into it. It works great as long as you know your security and configure everything adequately. If you just pop one in and it's not configured, then it's basically wide open. It kind of depends on the admin skill, but it's an excellent product."
"Sophos UTM has a good user interface and granular security controls."
"The most valuable features of Sophos UTM are the ease of use, it is very user-friendly. You can understand what they implement in the new firmware, and it's easy to manage the firewalls."
"It has allowed us to design a bespoke cloud space for our clients, while still having an excellent level of protection."
"We find all of the features valuable because together they fit the needs of our customers."
"The cloud features and integration could be improved."
"One of the problems I was having was with user mapping, and it is an issue for which I have escalated tickets with Fortinet support."
"The renewal price and the availability could be improved."
"The solution lacks multi-language support."
"I think that the infrastructure for the VPN could be improved. The way that it is bundled also made it difficult to use and sell as it is too expensive."
"The price of FortiGate should be reduced because there are some other leading products that are cheaper."
"FortiGate is really good. We have been using it for quite some time. Initially, when we started off, we had around 70 plus devices of FortiGate, but then Check Point and Palo Alto took over the place. From the product perspective, there are no issues, but from the account perspective, we have had issues. Fortinet's presence in our company is very less. I don't see any Fortinet account managers talking to us, and that presence has diluted in the last two and a half or three years. We have close to 1,500 firewalls. Out of these, 60% of firewalls are from Palo Alto, and a few firewalls are from Check Point. FortiGate firewalls are very less now. It is not because of the product; it is because of the relationship. I don't think they had a good relationship with us, and there was some kind of disconnect for a very long time. The relationship between their accounts team and my leadership team seems to be the reason for phasing out FortiGate."
"There are problems with the custom reporting of the unique traffic. The data is there, but it is too difficult for us to extract."
"You do need knowledge of the solution in order to set the product up properly."
"The security features need to be improved."
"They should have a GUI on the product itself, not a separate management tool to be used on the management server or on a server to be used to manage the file. It should be all in one device. The device should be controlled through its own GUI. They also have to improve the learning center and the documents as the documents don't really help."
"My team is looking for more throughput and better integration with our security framework."
"The optimization is not really ready. If you want very good optimization, you have to add it to the network."
"It's a complicated firewall. Until you come to know the firewall inducers, most people don't like the firewall because the components for the firewall are a little bit complex. User-friendliness is a little bit tough. It needs to be user-friendly when creating policies, and pushing policies. Committing takes more time compared to Palo Alto."
"The interface is complicated. It's difficult to locate all the necessary menus and functions."
"The initial setup of the Forcepoint Next Generation Firewall has areas that are difficult."
"The solution is not scalable."
"Reporting: We have had to work manually in many of our reports."
"The solution could be improved by adding cloud soundboxing."
"Sophos UTM's firewall is a bit weak, and some of its features lack depth compared to other products like F5."
"I think that additional metrics features are needed to be able to monitor other areas or to monitor as much as you can, at a fine-grain resolution."
"The interface configuration could be improved."
"Sophos UTM could improve the way the configuration has to be done. I have to do the configuration through the command line interface but if it could be done through the graphical user interface it would be much better."
"We had some problems with the configuration. They had provided a CloudFormation template, and we had to go several rounds to make it work."
