Lightweight and extensible with great support staff
* Lightweight * Uses java standards * Can run in j2se or j2ee environments * Can run as embedded or standalone * Works with multiple db or in-memory * Great support staff * Extensible * Cluster(able) * Can integrate and be a major player in any SOA environmentFlux has made excellent design choices the benefits of which can be passed down to customers in terms of price and capability. I don't see any IT vendor rival this.

Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources
The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure. First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%. It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Excellent customer support"
"Flux has made excellent design choices the benefits of which can be passed down to customers in terms of price and capability."
"GoAnywhere MFT provides the best encryption mode in sharing files, which stands out for me compared to other solutions I have seen."
"Before, we had to write scripts and manually update them to move data around, encrypt files, or rename files. Now we just use the GUI to set the modules for transfers, encryption, renaming, and copying, allowing us to set it and schedule it to run without any user interaction."
"Using the automated features helps me save time, and Secure Forms enable end-users to fill out and submit information through a secure platform that keeps our data protected."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The module of GoAnywhere MFT that was given to us was very simple and easy to learn."
"The most valuable feature is the Advanced Workflows."
"The SFTP and encryption functionality works well, and SFTP is the bulk of what we use."
"By centralizing everything in GoAnywhere, we're able to eliminate 100 or so custom programs and scripts, and if I had to quantify it, I would estimate that it cuts our workload by about 80 hours a week."

Cons

"Need a better way to track a particular work item through multiple, independent workflows."
"It would be nice to have more file transform capabilities for transforming xml and csv documents."
"GoAnywhere MFT could be improved in terms of UI modernization and faster troubleshooting visibility for failed transfers, with more advanced reporting customization being very helpful."
"GoAnywhere MFT didn't provide any sort of guidance on certificate management. They simply provided what needed to be done and left the implementation to us, which was a significant oversight on their part as certificate management became a nightmare."
"There are a number of built-in tasks in GoAnywhere. One, in particular, the write to CSV task, is slow. If you have, say, 100,000 records in your row set and you want to write them to a CSV file, it takes a long time. That definitely requires performance improvement."
"One of the most important things that needs to be improved is the customer support. It is slow, irresponsive, and inconsistent."
"We do have to occasionally restart GoAnywhere because a job gets stuck or we are having connectivity issues."
"I believe that GoAnywhere MFT can be improved because the initial setup is somewhat challenging for a new user, so they need to make the initial feature easier for everyone, whether new or experienced users."
"One area I want to see improvement is their licensing system."
"The support could be enhanced a little bit."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"GoAnywhere's price is justified by its features and the time it saves me."
"I find it to be very fair. It is very good."
"Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT carries a higher price tag than other MFT solutions."
"To have a solution like this for the price we're paying makes it cheap. Considering the time that it has saved us, and considering the development that we don't need to do, such as connectors and handling servers, the price is really affordable."
"The cost was definitely within reason and it has definitely been worth the cost, based on how much we can automate. It has exceeded my expectations."
"The pricing is decent for mid-sized and small-sized companies. It is good for startups or mid-scale companies."
"HelpSystems GoAnywhere MFT is very reasonably priced for the value it brings."
"Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is an inexpensive solution."
