Great detection and response with very good compliance reporting
The solution protects your data classification very well. It does data discovery. It also does detection and response. It's pretty awesome. If you do the managed detection and response, it's beneficial due to the fact that they're the ones that are going to be doing the work for you. They're the ones that are going to end up servicing your organization. They focus on threat hunting, and threat detection as well as the compliance of it. All the tools are managed. They have the compliance reporting. They have the incident response detection where it remotely tells you, "Hey, there's an issue here." It will catch stuff and then it will send you notifications. The loss prevention is excellent. They have very high rates in terms of catching people stealing information. If you have a person signing into their Hotmail account and inserting a spreadsheet in there from the finance department, they will catch it. It will immediately notify the manager about the sensitive information being stolen. It's a very new solution. It's cleaner in its look and feel than other solutions. The deployment's so much easier than other options. You have visibility across your protection line. There is very good data visibility and data classification, and, on top of that, you have all the bells and whistles.

Endpoint monitoring has become faster and has reduced alert response time for our clients
The best features that Alert Logic MDR offers include AI and behavior analysis, which I find most valuable. AI and behavior analysis mean that within AI there is static AI analysis and behavior analysis with subtypes. For example, if there is any file or a certain subtype, or if ransomware is happening, or any tool or app is being used, there are subtypes of AI. I appreciate that Alert Logic MDR has a separate AI for each type. Alert Logic MDR has positively impacted our organization by minimizing the alert SLA timing. When we used our other endpoint detection and response solution, we required at least fifteen minutes to raise one alert. After using Alert Logic MDR, we integrated it with SOAR technology, so within five minutes, the alert is raised to the client. Efficiency-wise, reducing the alert SLA timing to five minutes has been very beneficial. Whenever we receive an alert from endpoint detection and response from an endpoint to the Alert Logic MDR console, the system directly has the protect mode, conducting the kill and quarantine process itself. We only have to perform static analysis, and we have the playbooks, so they conduct some static analysis from there and directly raise the alert to the respective team.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is likely one of the best in the industry; it offers a very valuable bang for your buck, and Symantec and Forcepoint just don't offer the kind of features that are on offer here."
"The deployment's so much easier than other options."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is endpoint management...The solution's support team is quite good at giving us feedback if there is an issue."
"I would definitely recommend Alert Logic because it is a good product that constantly adds new features and changes interfaces."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"We receive infrastructure security warnings from it. So, we know what is going on and what needs to be addressed."
"Notifications and the detail of notifications are most valuable. It is a user-friendly solution."
"Technical support is pretty decent with Alert Logic."
"Automated information on zero-day threats is provided without us needing to ask."
"It implemented pretty quickly; we have everything you need, and while it would typically take a lot of other solutions weeks to set up, this set up within fifteen minutes, which is pretty slick, and it has a lot of different interfaces."

Cons

"They lose when it comes to Forcepoint and they lose when it comes to Symantec due to the fact that they can drop their margins by 45%. Typically the competition will undercut them and they'll lose on price as they are quite expensive."
"One pain point we have, for example, is if the search keyword is related inside an XML, we will get an XML; if it is a normal log, however, you will get a null pointer exception or something, and we don't get the complete trace."
"The interface, particularly the dashboard we use for looking at alerts, could be improved."
"We'd like to have triggered alerts sent to us so we see errors quicker."
"If the language barrier was addressed, it would lower the barrier for a number of German customers. It would take away a unique selling point for our own specialist managed service."
"Alert Logic needs to expand its SOCs to serve more markets, such as the Middle East and Asia. There should be infrastructure that covers more time zones. The company should also develop an EDR that is natively integrated into their solution. Currently, a client must buy another EDR solution like CrowdStrike or Sophos. I think Alert Logic is developing this. Built-in email security could also be developed and integrated."
"Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it."
"I would like more data on the alert payload. It would be good to have the ability to customize the alert payload to add whatever data that we want on there. Right now, it is a bit limited."
"They have ideas and email you whatever they find, but they don't have a dedicated security team who will work on an attack or a specific security instance."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When you buy Digital Guardian, the starting price is around $300,000. It's out of the box."
"Almost any product that is on the AWS Marketplace is super easy to subscribe to."
"Alert Logic has better competitive pricing than some of its competitors."
"Its pricing is very reasonable considering what you get for what you pay. There is quite a good value there. Its licensing is also very logical. They've got the licensing price points at a reasonable level. It is on a monthly license but a yearly contract. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"Price of the solution was very reasonable considering the size of our organization at the time, and so it worked out perfectly."
"Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it. It sits in there. We get emails and just delete them. Around the world, we don't even use it."
"Price-wise, Cybereason Managed Detection & Response is effective for larger companies, but if you have a small company with less than 1,000 employees, then it gets expensive."

Regarding my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing, the sales and management teams discuss the price, which is per endpoint around ten to twelve dollars, and it is a good setup cost.
