Stable solution with a wider boost functionality, helping us eliminate the tape backup requirements
We use the solution to protect the applications running in the cloud or on-premises. Its wider boost functionality helps us eliminate the tape backup requirements The solution's most valuable feature is throttling the applications as per the bandwidth. Using it, we can adapt a method to work on…

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's support team is excellent."
"My customer has Dell EMC CloudBoost integrated with all of their other Dell products. It integrates well."
"The most valuable feature is the data backup functionality."
"The solution is stable."
"It is a stable solution."
"Veeam is affordable and end-to-end configuration is straightforward, whether you're going from source to destination or vice versa. Retrieval is also easy."
"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"The installation process is very easy."
"It is easy to use and easy to recover files."
"It is very easy to integrate. You can do it very fast."

Cons

"They should eliminate the tape-out function from the solution."
"One area that needs improvement is the pricing of Veeam Backup, as it can be expensive at twenty-eight dollars per user for one year."
"It needs to be able to integrate with other emailing systems, like Linux."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"When you add a new site for backup, it gives you a notice that there is a new site, but the way you select that and configure that could be slightly better. It works, but it is not always very clear. For example, for the URL, you need to hover over the title or the name of the site. You should see it immediately on the screen. It should have a better user interface for selecting what you want to back up so that you get a more clear overview of the sites that are there and the ones that you want to combine in a backup. Its user interface should be more user-friendly. It has a lot of scrolling and doesn't give you a complete overview when needed. That's the main thing why it is not very user-friendly. It should have a better user interface."
"They can provide a dashboard for sizing. This feature might get included in the next release."
"While I don't have a use case in mind, it would be great if they could integrate more automation capabilities into the solution."
"A while back, I had some trouble using the agent. It might be a problem with older versions. Sometimes, I also have issues installing or making backups from the console to that type of operating system."
"When using Veeam Backup for Office 365 when there is a server that's running, I have to have a hard drive installed on it. For example, if I want to use another storage solution, I can't incorporate it very well. If I want to use SMB or other protocols I cannot use them with the Veeam Backup for Office 365. They have the support in the other Veeam Backup and Restore solutions, but it doesn't support it in this solution. Hopefully, in the future, they figured it out."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its cost depends upon the amount of data that needs to be protected."
"The price of Dell EMC CloudBoost could be reduced, it is expensive."
"For the number of users and amount of storage you receive, it is not expensive."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
"We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
"The cost is a bit on the high side."
