Monitoring has improved data loss detection and now spots abnormal internal file transfers quickly
In my understanding, the best feature Darktrace offers is the identification of copying files, which acts as a DLP, and it is a main concern for companies because users sometimes copy data outside without knowing, especially those without a technical background. When I mention the DLP-like feature and file copying detection, the alerts have been very timely, as we get an alert within a couple of minutes, which is excellent. Even if some developers are working after hours and copying files, our SOC team detects this, and most of the time they call us so we can identify the users. The alerts are quite accurate and proactive.

Helped our organization by providing a comprehensive picture of our cyber posture in terms of threat intelligence
The most valuable feature is the capability to correlate all the vulnerabilities or threats detected from different sources. It does a very good job in correlating and identifying threat actors. Its integration with other products such as HCI, Firewall, and VDI solution for native control and detection also adds significant value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have used multiple solutions, but its graphical user interface is quite interesting and quite descriptive. There are a lot of video animations, and we can easily see how the data is transferred between various points. That's something really interesting. It is also quite easy to understand for a new user."
"The Antigena feature is very useful."
"I particularly like Antigena and the analytics around the real-time monitoring of our network."
"It is a very simple product to use."
"I am impressed with the product's ability to give insights into network traffic."
"A simple, powerful AI solution that just does all the work for you when you turn it on."
"Darktrace is a good product and it can be implemented on premises."
"The most valuable feature of Darktrace is its ability to detect and counter threats before they occur."
"The most valuable feature is the capability to correlate all the vulnerabilities or threats detected from different sources."
"The tool is a good product in the NDR market. Its valuable features are ease of management and breach of response features. It is an easy-to-learn solution."
"Sangfor Cyber Command has helped our organization by providing a comprehensive picture of our cyber posture in terms of threat intelligence."

Cons

"The Darktrace Mobile app needs improvement as it's currently limited in functionality, and the learning AI takes a while to adapt to new devices, flagging new users as threats for up to a month before recognizing them as regular network users."
"We want to continue using Darktrace but it's very expensive."
"The interface is too mathematical and it should be simplified."
"The cost is a bit on the higher side."
"One area for improvement is the alerting system, which generates too many alerts and becomes labor-intensive for organizations not equipped with enough personnel in their SOC."
"In terms of improvements, fine-tuning is the area where we have to spend some time because it works on unsupervised machine learning. It would be good if they can improve their algorithm or technical functionality to reduce the fine-tuning effort. They can also come up with something at the endpoint level. So far, Darktrace has been a network detection response (NDR) solution. It does not offer much at the endpoint level or on user-client devices or servers. There should be more visibility at the endpoint level. It would be good to have the detection and response at the endpoint level by Darktrace. It should also have integration with an agile environment so that we can have continuous development and continuous integration in the application development environment. This is currently not there. It should also have internet-facing platform visibility, which is currently missing. They also need to improve the reporting and management dashboards. Currently, these are not so easy for a non-technical person. All these features would make Darktrace much better, and they would also be helpful in selling more solutions."
"Darktrace requires numerous configurations. It would be beneficial if the configuration could be made simpler."
"Darkforce could be improved in the range of the interface; how to interact with the actions it's taking or not taking."
"Technical support could be improved, and I rate them a seven. The support team has fewer cybersecurity resources capable of managing Cyber Command compared to other solutions."
"The solution could improve by incorporating email security."
"The product needs to improve its dashboard. Integration with existing systems has been challenging. When comparing it with Trend Micro, which offers an all-in-one NDR solution, the tool's integration process can be difficult."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is very flexible for Darktrace. Sometimes, a customer does not have the appropriate budget, but Darktrace can handle that. They offer monthly payments, so the customer can acquire the solution very easily."
"When it comes to large installations, it can be expensive, but for small accounts it's fine."
"It is expensive."
"It's an expensive solution."
"The price of Darktrace is high and could be reduced. We pay approximately $30,000 to $54,000 annually."
"The pricing is quite high, estimated at around $350,000 per year."
"The solution is about $6,000 per quarter."
"The pricing is subscription-based and it is high."
