Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Integration of multiple firewalls enables advanced threat detection
The integration of data from firewalls and Active Directory is most valuable. Cybereason XDR facilitates two-way communication, where the firewall sends data to the Cybereason system, and it can communicate with the firewall to stop unwanted communication. Customers can deal with multiple types of firewalls with ease. The behavioral analytics help detect advanced threats when attackers use existing software. The multilayered protection approach, including NGAV, integrates XDR detection with antivirus to assess and counter threats effectively.

Built faster threat response and improved visibility with real-time monitoring and flexible deployment
TrendAI Vision One allows us to monitor attacks in real time, which is a significant benefit. We can quickly see where the attack is coming from. TrendAI Vision One enables us to use different products with a flexible license. For example, if a customer is using endpoint security and wants to switch to another solution, they can instantly use a different Trend Micro product, such as email. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce the time to detect and respond to different threats, as it can respond to attacks very quickly. With playbook templates, in cases of recurring attacks, responses can be made quickly using predefined playbooks. TrendAI Vision One has helped to reduce noise from false positives. There have been false positives before, but it was due to the customer not telling us which app they were using. Best practice configurations must be applied properly to avoid such issues. TrendAI Vision One helps customers consolidate the use of security vendors and reduce silos by offering one platform for all product management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The main benefit of using Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks while employing Palo Alto Firewall at the internet edge is that it improves security on our endpoint devices, integrating seamlessly with Palo Alto Firewalls to deliver comprehensive network, analyst, and security details all in a single dashboard, which allows us to manage everything from our network devices."
"They have a new GUI which is just fantastic."
"We have a complete overview of all our PCs and it's very easy to handle and to use the interface."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks saves time in various ways, although the user interface is fairly standard."
"It is an easy-to-use tool."
"Cortex XDR is a very capable solution for protecting large networks and a lot of endpoints. It's very useful because the automation is very high, and if you combine it with the features on Palo Alto firewalls, it provides very strong protection."
"The stability of the solution is very good. We have about 100 users on it right now, and we use it twice a week."
"If the user leaves our premises or network, Palo Alto Traps will still be on that endpoint and will still apply our policies."
"The integration of data from firewalls and Active Directory is most valuable."
"The solution has an investigation feature, which is useful for building storylines."
"The integration of data from firewalls and Active Directory is most valuable."
"Cybereason XDR's most useful feature is the investigation."
"Trend Vision One offers centralized visibility and management across all protection layers, providing a holistic view of our environment and enhancing visibility across the entire infrastructure."
"While it's not an actual feature of the application, I appreciate the clinics and seminars that Trend provides, as I went to one last year that got me from zero to beginner, and I hope to advance to intermediate with another seminar series this year."
"Trend Micro XDR is stable, scalable, and reasonably priced."
"The workbench alerts provide valuable insights into attack chains and relevant information, while Observer techniques give a comprehensive overview of ongoing activities."
"The SOC team is the most valuable feature for us because having experts who monitor global threat landscapes and can respond accordingly is incredibly helpful."
"I find the maps particularly helpful. The object list, specifically the suspicious object list, is also quite valuable. You can simply add one object to that list to manage it from another solution."
"I like XDR's workbench feature and observed attack technique. It generates an alert once certain conditions are met. For example, let's say there's a threat called malicious.exe being deployed on your system. It will generate an alert with information like the file path, location, hash, etc. You also see a relational matrix showing how that file was executed and which processes were installed."
"By switching to TrendAI Vision One, I have reduced my risk by approximately eighty percent."

Cons

"The configuration could be simplified. I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"Additionally, I think the price is very high, and if it can be adjusted, I believe it will be a very good solution."
"They are charging for Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) services, so if the per GB data could be provided at a certain level free of cost or at the same cost which the customer is taking for the entire bundle, that would be better."
"Basically, they don't provide customer support tools just to investigate the logs."
"The connection to the internet has not performed as expected."
"The encryption is not up to the mark."
"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"Although I would say this product is highly-rated, it could probably do more because nothing does everything that you want."
"There could be more integrations with other data sources like NDR systems."
"Customer service is rated as a five out of ten. When they work and reach the right level, they are helpful, but getting to the right person can be time-consuming."
"The one thing we sometimes have issues with is its integration with other security applications like antiviruses."
"Cybereason's customer support could be better."
"A room for improvement in Trend Micro XDR is more visibility into the alerts."
"It would be great if there were Trend Micro products that could enhance the security of these devices, either as part of our product or in some other way integrated into our offering."
"There should be a bit more dynamism when it comes to their playbooks in terms of the action triggers. That is the only thing that I would want to see a bit more."
"Having more variables within the playbook would be useful. It would allow us to have more refined playbooks for the business. It would allow us to take stronger action through a playbook. It will give us confidence to target a particular area of business where our risk tolerance might be higher or lower. We would like to have more granular playbooks."
"In comparison to Trellix, one disadvantage of Trend Micro is the DLP feature. Trend Micro has a light DLP, while Trellix offers a perfect DLP."
"It would be ideal if they could improve the control of connectivity between sensors."
"I would like to have more integration with mobile device management."
"The centralized dashboard has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price was fine."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"Compared to CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR is an expensive solution."
"Our license will require renewal in August, after which the maintenance will continue as usual."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"The pricing is okay, although direct support can be expensive."
"The solution is cheaper than Microsoft Defender. It has a subscription and no standard license."
"They've introduced a credit system, where we purchase credits and then allocate them to the specific services we need active."
"Trend Micro XDR is expensive."
"It's relatively well-priced."
"The pricing for Trend Vision One is reasonable."
"Trend Vision One is cost-effective because it offers detailed reporting and environment control features."
"Trend Micro XDR is expensive, and you have to pay for it yearly."
"The cost is considered fairly priced."
"The price is reasonable. It's not exorbitant. CrowdStrike and other players are on the higher side."
