Data governance has transformed business glossaries and now drives AI-ready insights
I think it's a great platform. Searching can be made a little better. The data marketplace which it provides is also great, but sometimes when we are searching an element and we know we are not sure if we can find it or if we have missed it. Listing data domains in one place for quick visibility will be an add-on. I am not a hardcore coder. For a coder to create workflows and automate the process, I needed to learn Groovy script and create some workflows. In the automation part, I think it can also introduce a low-code, no-code platform where we can connect different connectors and we can quickly create some automated workflows, if at basic level only, because the next big thing is automation and AI. Low-code, no-code platforms are being used by everyone. I think that will be useful. When I look for a data domain, I'm not able to find it very quickly. For a business owner to know data domains and search data domains, it could be made a little easier. Also, the automation part needs improvement. We are only able to enter the data manually or connect to a data source, but now we want to create some workflows as well. That's why I've chosen a rating of eight. Otherwise, it's really great.

An exceptionally stable and scalable product that helps businesses in the area of data integrity
I am kind of not at the forefront of anything anymore in my company. I kind of don't want to give a point of view on what needs improvement when I feel I am not adequately in a position to give it. In today's time, to be competitive, the solution's price should be lowered.

Quotes from Members

Cons

"Collibra Lineage could improve connectively. If they can offer more out-of-the-box connectors, which come as in a package compared to you having to go and buy a lot in the marketplace for certain specific connectors."
"I rate scalability a six out of ten. There is some room for improvement in terms of scalability."
"The management of the speed of the tool is not that great."
"Collibra doesn't provide support for integration for SAP Info Steward directly with Collibra."
"One problem is the data lineage, especially extracting the ETL transformation from different ETL tools and identifying how the data is getting changed from one layer to different layers and how the transformation is applied."
"The company strategy is also, honestly, infantile compared to a lot of companies."
"If a developer implements ETL in Glue or PySpark, Collibra cannot capture lineage out of that."
"If someone changes the metadata, we can't see who changed it."
"In today's time, to be competitive, the solution's price should be lowered."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Collibra Governance is expensive - I would rate its pricing as one out of five."
"The solution's pricing is moderate and not very expensive."
"Collibra provides you with a license based on the subscription model that you purchase."
"We purchase its annual license. There is an extra cost for additional users."
"I think they can bring a few more features and align better with other quality products."
"It's expensive, especially for small companies."

"I rate the pricing a three on a scale of one to ten, where one is expensive, and ten is cheap."
"It is an expensive product. In a company, you need to employ additional people to take care of the product, which can be considered as a part of the sundry expenses when it comes to the product."
