Developers can share within Coalesce.io. I would rate Coalesce.io as nine out of ten. We do not track any metrics at the moment. Coalesce.io is deployed in a private cloud. When Coalesce.io needs to be updated or maintained, we must declare the maintenance window. We cannot use the tool during maintenance, but we try to keep maintenance time low to prevent any issues. I don't have much information about security features. Coalesce.io offers capabilities that we managed to use, but we also use external tools. The Coalesce.io integration was planned to be smooth because before it, we used another tool, so we had to migrate what we had on the previous tool to Coalesce.io and then switch off when everything was done. I suggest Coalesce.io to everyone who wants a collaborative environment deeply integrated with Snowflake that supports developers in their job.

We utilize Time Travel with Snowflake because this is a very useful feature. Everyone finds it crucial because in conventional data platforms, it's very difficult to handle these kinds of things. This feature is essential, though I don't have the use cases currently; it is just there for implementation. Regarding Snowflake's automated scaling and suspension features, this auto-scaling is very significant. We had a comparison with Databricks and Snowflake a few months back, and this auto-scaling takes an edge within Snowflake; that's what our observation reflects.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Coalesce.io has impacted our organization positively by providing a low-code approach, supporting different sources so we don't need to write custom code, and offering a collaborative tool suitable for teams with a large number of developers."
"This solution has helped our organization by being easy to maintain and having good technical support."
"We utilize Time Travel with Snowflake because this is a very useful feature; everyone finds it crucial because in conventional data platforms, it's very difficult to handle these kinds of things."
"Snowflake has improved my organization because of its high performance compared to the old way we used to operate with Microsoft SQL Server."
"I like the ability to work with a managed service on the cloud and that is easy to start with."
"The most valuable features of Snowflake are its performance and power."
"Very easy to use and easy to query."
"It is a very good platform. It can handle structured and semi-structured data, and it can be used for your data warehouse or data lake. It can load and deal with any data that you have. It can extract data from an on-premises database or a website and make it available in the cloud. It has very fast implementation and integration as compared to other solutions. There is no need for the DBA to manage or do the day-to-day DBA tasks, which is one of the greatest things about it."
"It is a cloud solution with many useful features. It has the data science capability. It can transform data and prepare data for a data science project with scalability."

Cons

"At the moment, the only improvement I see is deeper support for AI agents to support the developer's job."
"There is room for improvement in Snowflake's integration with Python."
"Getting data out of the tool to third-party applications is difficult."
"Snowflake is very good overall, but it could improve documentation for supporting different structures."
"It's not that flexible when compared to Oracle."
"We would like to have an on-premises deployment option that has the same features, including scalability."
"Snowflake can improve its machine learning and AI capabilities."
"An additional feature I'd like to see is called materialized views, which can speed up some run times. I'd like it to be able to be used where you can have multiple tables inside them; materialized view. That would be nice. As well as being able to run cursors, to be able to do some bulk updates and some more advanced querying, table building on the fly."
"The billing doubles with size increase, but processing does not necessarily speed up accordingly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Snowflake is cost-effective."
"You pay based on the data that you are storing in the data warehouse and there are no maintenance costs."
"Currently, we have a trial account, so we don't need a license. After our project starts, we would need a permanent license."
"I believe that pricing is reasonable for this solution."
"It is not cheap."
"We're based on credits. So, we're paying four and a half dollars of credit. There are no additional costs. I would rate it a two out of five in terms of pricing."
"Part of the problem with the pricing is that it is very difficult for businesses to get an idea of how expensive it might be until they actually start using Snowflake."
"It is hard to say because we're usually engaged in the transition as opposed to the long term. Their storage costs are easily within pennies of what AWS S3 would normally cost. Most of the clients I've been working with are in the financial sector, and they're relatively small. I would put them in an SMB connection. The first thing we have to bring up for people is that they're going to build this. They shouldn't store their data in S3. They should pipeline directly into Snowflake and use it on their storage. So, the cost is a big issue because these are small to medium size companies, and that is the biggest thing we had to price point for them."
