Admin gets the information about which computer has been infected and good to use for servers and endpoints
The important factor is that after implementing Bitdefender, we haven't found any attacks. It has a vaccine for the RDP protocol, which is specific to this. We do some customization, but it does not lack any protection. Compared to older versions, we have not found any degradation in performance in the newer versions from the last three to five years, whether for graphical or normal users. They're not complaining that we are facing problems like memory issues. Bitdefender is also customizable and granular, but once you install it, it keeps running. The admin gets the information about which computer has been infected and can take action accordingly. On a regular basis, Bitdefender's AI capability is okay. But you cannot leave some decisions to AI. You must have control. You have to look at what you're filtering, as it can be a false positive. But on a regular basis, AI can be helpful.

Integrates well with our existing SIEM tool and helps in identifying suspicious activities
The solution's integration with our existing security infrastructure is good. Whenever we have any alert in VMware Carbon Black Endpoint, we can easily that alert in our SIEM tool and check logs from the SIEM tool itself. VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is just a secondary security tool for us, and we are just monitoring the alerts from it. The solution's behavioral analytics feature helps in identifying suspicious activities pretty well. Whenever we have even a small thing, we get an alert. The solution is deployed on the cloud in our organization. Performance-wise, the solution is doing great in terms of connecting to the host directly. Performing a malware scan usually takes a lot of time, more than 24 hours. A malware scan is something that we do only on Carbon Black for the old endpoint devices and servers. It used to take sometimes three days to perform. I would recommend the solution to other users. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Protection is the most valuable feature."
"The domain integrator functionality is particularly noteworthy, allowing me to leverage my existing network infrastructure."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security has a lot of telemetry that allows me to really see what's going on with the device."
"The fact that it is almost plug and play means the policies I have to define are not very complicated."
"I like its unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email, for example. Multiple products can be standardized across endpoints or the EDR solution, and the integrations with SIEMs."
"In terms of threat detection, I would give it a ten out of ten since Bitdefender manages to catch threats that other products miss."
"We use patch management to keep our software up-to-date, significantly mitigating our risk of vulnerabilities. We're confident that Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security will either already know about new threats and have updated our machines, or they'll advise us quickly on mitigating them until an update is available."
"The features I found most valuable in Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security include anti-malware, spyware detection, firewall, network detection, and user behavior analytics. The solution also gives you a heads-up about operating system misconfiguration."
"One of the most valuable features is that it will block vulnerable sites. If there was a connection between one of our devices to a known malware site, it will block it."
"The visibility provided has been great."
"VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is a highly stable solution."
"You can deploy it through the cloud so that even if your stuff is outside of your controlled environment, you are still under control, based on the policies you create. The policies are controlled through the cloud. For example, if I don't allow anyone to do a certain activity or to install a particular app, and a consultant or a partner who is not part of our environment is doing so, it will stop them as well."
"It has the best live response feature."
"The EDR and reports were helpful in improving our organization."
"The initial setup is very easy."
"The initial setup was fairly easy."

Cons

"I like the Application Control feature, but it's a bit tricky. Managing it can be a bit cumbersome sometimes."
"The initial setup should be made easier."
"The firewall capabilities could benefit from an upgrade since it lacks a high level of granularity and control."
"The live monitoring service from Bitdefender's center is expensive and has room for improvement."
"The price has increased marginally recently and I would prefer if they didn't raise rates."
"The dashboard can be improved."
"At this point in time, the download footprint is a bit big."
"The lack of detecting security threats and high memory usage need to be improved."
"It could be a bit complicated. You have to be very familiar with Carbon Black to understand what it is doing and why it is doing. I would like to have more explanations and simplification in the user interface. It would be good to get help and see more explanations. It should tell us that a software is blocked and the reason for it. It would be good to be able to build chains in terms of what caused what, what worked, and what caused an issue. We are now moving from Carbon Black to Cortex XDR. While choosing antivirus software, we were also looking at Carbon Black because it also has an antivirus package, and it is next-generation, but we were told that Carbon Black doesn't support firewalls. We have Palo Alto firewalls. We would have chosen this solution if it supported firewalls, in particular next-generation firewalls, but unfortunately, it doesn't. Therefore, we decided on Cortex XDR because it integrates with Palo Alto firewalls."
"They will most likely need to create or include a feature that checks the network."
"The solution needs expanded endpoint query tools."
"With the on-prem one, the bug has been reported by the community in early January or February, something like that, at the beginning of the year, and it's still not addressed. They have released two versions since then, and yet neither of them addresses this specific issue."
"In my company, we face issues sometimes when there is a need to write custom rules or we want to write for some rules that are different from the standard rules provided by the solution."
"Needs improvement in the area of infrastructure for on-premise installation."
"The solution needs better overall compatibility with other products."
"At this point, we're test-bedding several other providers right now to see if there's anything that does equally or better and that comes at a better price point."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's pricing structure is good. We use an annual subscription."
"Good in terms of pricing and flexibility."
"We pay for an annual license which is affordable."
"The general basic price is roughly $1.20 for a license with Bitdefender."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"The product's pricing is okay and it is yearly."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"Its price has gone up since our last renewal. My renewal fee has gone from $517.99 in 2018 for 3 years to $739.99 when it renews this year in July. I love the product, but a price increase of over 40% is a bit exorbitant."
"The price for the solution is completely at government level, meaning one which is very high."
"Carbon Black provides competitive pricing."
"We have branches, we have different companies, but we cannot buy less than 100 licenses. This does not make sense to me... It should be more flexible. I can understand their saying, "Okay, to be a customer you need 100," but to add on to that number it should be something very straightforward. If I need to add five, for example, I shouldn't need to add 100."
"CB Defense is available on a yearly subscription and is priced by the number of endpoints."
"The pricing is annually based and operates through another department than mine."
"Price-wise, VMware Carbon Black Endpoint is a highly-priced solution. Regarding the licensing cost of the solution, one needs to opt for an annual subscription."
"The product’s price is less expensive than other vendors."
"I am not really involved in the pricing of this product. But, from my understanding, it is OK for us."
