Delivers lightweight protection while facing challenges with technical aspects
I have been working with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security for quite a long time, but recently, I do not appreciate their changes, especially on the technical side. They moved some portions to remote GUI-based interfaces. The Command Line Interface (CLI) is not improving. Even experienced personnel are finding it difficult. There is a power user function where you can stop it temporarily for installing applications. Previously, we had the option to click on the power user button and enter the password to allow stopping that particular function. Now, we have to do it via CLI, which even technical personnel struggle to understand. Currently, everything is working fine except for the technical aspects we can control. If they can revert to the old system, that would be much better. When we raise this issue with Bitdefender, they cite security reasons for the change. However, while Cisco is moving away from CLI to GUI, Bitdefender is moving backward. Normal users cannot handle these CLI operations effectively.

A tool that offers good UI and documentation
Webroot Business Endpoint Protection had sent me a physical installation medium, which was very easy to obtain and deploy. It was also easy to configure, and it had a nice UI. I didn't have any problems with the product. I think that Webroot Business Endpoint Protection is very transparent about the pricing models offered to users. The tool also maintains transparency about the features and specifications. Previously, when I compared the two products with Webroot Business Endpoint Protection, I saw that with Trend Micro, it is very difficult to transparently find out what it offers and how much it charges for it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is very scalable."
"We use patch management to keep our software up-to-date, significantly mitigating our risk of vulnerabilities. We're confident that Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security will either already know about new threats and have updated our machines, or they'll advise us quickly on mitigating them until an update is available."
"The most valuable features of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security are remote administration and deployment, comprehensive firewall protection, malware protection, and antivirus."
"The tool has a firewall module to control traffic. It also has a feature to map incidents and provide information about attackers and the environment."
"Based on my experience, I rate Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security a nine out of ten."
"The installation is easy and it takes approximately a few hours. We are deploying it from a Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool. All you need to do is click on it and the installation is complete."
"We find the protection the solution provides valuable."
"I like its unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email, for example. Multiple products can be standardized across endpoints or the EDR solution, and the integrations with SIEMs."
"We've not had any issues with scalability. If an organization needs to expand, they can do so quite easily."
"The most valuable features of the solution include the endpoint navigation protection, the protection related to the EMS service, as well as the control and the cloud integration capabilities."
"There aren't any features that really stand out — I just want it to keep malware out of my system. To date, I haven't had any malware in my system."
"The main reason we had Webroot is that it was cost-effective for our clients."
"It is an easy-to-use and easy-to-configure product."
"It monitors traffic and keeps us from getting ransomware or other viruses."
"Probably, compared to other antivirus programs, what we like about it is it is lightweight."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It took five minutes. I installed the solution myself."

Cons

"The solution must be more user-friendly."
"It could be simplified a little bit for firewall rules and blocking specific IP addresses. It would be nice to have an option to upload a CSV or XLSX file of IP addresses to be blacklisted or to be able to specify a range as attempted logins from botnets and people attempting to access network accounts is an increasing issue across the board."
"We had experienced a crash and had to reinstall it."
"The connection with the controller needs improvement. Some connections are currently unstable."
"The price of the bandwidth here is very expensive compared to European countries."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security could improve the RDP, I have problems sometimes."
"The Command Line Interface (CLI) is not improving. Even experienced personnel are finding it difficult."
"There is room for improvement in CPU utilization."
"I want Webroot to be easier to use and set up. It is not very intuitive."
"Since they're dealing with multi-core environments now, the best option would be for them to enhance the product so that the product can automatically do an assessment on the machine."
"We need to have a stronger defense against CryptoLock and other attackers."
"We need to know more details about how the virus interacted with the computer."
"They should provide more information on the type of cyber attacks."
"It would be great if there was a feature which would allow you to scan an individual file on an endpoint user's computer."
"Technical support is not the best. It's hard to get a hold of them if we need help. It's something that definitely needs improvement."
"There needs to be more advanced analytics. It would make it a more powerful antivirus solution within the marketplace."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"Good in terms of pricing and flexibility."
"The product's pricing is okay and it is yearly."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"We purchase the solution for three or five-year intervals. We paid approximately $150 for 10 to 15 users."
"Its price has gone up since our last renewal. My renewal fee has gone from $517.99 in 2018 for 3 years to $739.99 when it renews this year in July. I love the product, but a price increase of over 40% is a bit exorbitant."
"Work on a price tier plan."
"The solution is very cost-effective."
"Get a trial, then a multi-year license."
"The pricing is high."
"We are on an annual subscription for the use of Webroot Business Endpoint Protection."
"It is relatively cheap."
"From a pricing standpoint, I would rate it a four out of five."
"Our strategy was to overestimate the complexity and cost. It turned out that Webroot's assurance was justified."
