Has all necessary functionalities, is sophisticated and mature; still contains some bugs
There are still some bugs in the solution but a lot less than there used to be. Unfortunately, CyberArk and BeyondTrust are in fierce competition. Many customers have already adopted CyberArk, but they need a proven remote access solution and are likely to go with BeyondTrust. Both solutions can be used, it's just more work for IT to manage them. CyberArk is still leading the market share globally, and BeyondTrust is always classified second, followed by Delinea or Thycotic.

Unified directory and device management has streamlined remote workforce security and onboarding
JumpCloud can be improved in several areas. Some users feel the initial configuration can be complex, especially for larger organizations, and better guided onboarding could be helpful. Additionally, while its reporting and integrations are strong, more granular and customizable metrics and real-time alerts would be beneficial for advanced use cases. From my team's perspective, there is often a desire for even more intuitive administrative controls, particularly when managing complex policy sets. Enhanced integrations with specific industry-specific applications could provide even greater efficiency. It is about refining the user experience and expanding compatibility. Another area for potential enhancement could be customer support and resources. While generally good, faster response times and more comprehensive or specialized documentation could further improve the user experience, especially during complex deployments.

Pros

"BeyondTrust DevOps Secrets Safe has made companies a lot safer."
"Secrets Safe is highly scalable without interruptions to the current infrastructure."
"The local administrator can manage all the user's logins in one, simple, straight-away account access. Additionally, the solution is user-friendly."
"DevOps Secrets Safe allows you to customize a lot of rules."
"A sophisticated and mature solution."
"They've done a great job implementing all possible features; it's the best tool there is and no competitors come close to the level of sophistication and maturity of the product."
"The most valuable features of BeyondTrust DevOps Secrets Safe are the ease of use and the API is very nice. Additionally, the interface is very good between AD and Unix."
"The most impactful feature of JumpCloud is that it allows me to use one credential for all platforms or accounts, reducing the need to remember multiple credentials."
"The product enables device management."
"JumpCloud has solved my needs by consolidating what I was previously using into one solution."
"As a cloud-based directory, JumpCloud allows me to integrate nearly every system I have come across that supports SAML 2.0. That's a specific technology that allows different services to integrate for user authentication and identification purposes. That means that with JumpCloud, I can then have one single password. Single sign-on for a particular user that works with VPN, radius authentication for WiFi, logging into Office 365, and their email. Their individual computers use that same password. It's extensible which allows us to tie in customers' security systems. We don't have to provision a new user, 12 different places with 12 different passwords. I only have to create them once and assign them privileges."
"The whole product is great. The device management is amazing. The fact that you can basically set up an entire machine without having the machine in front of you is most valuable."
"My advice for others looking into using JumpCloud is that if a person is looking for a directory solution that combines single sign-on identity and password management, this will be the best option."
"JumpCloud enables different kinds of connections and enables employees or subcontractors not within the company to connect to our network securely."
"The most valuable feature of JumpCloud, it provides a convenient and streamlined solution for me to access and manage all of the features I require in one centralized location. This eliminates the need for me to worry about hiring individuals to manage these tasks, as well as eliminating concerns surrounding hardware, updates, and licenses. With JumpCloud, I am able to receive the services I need in a timely and efficient manner, which has significantly reduced my stress and alleviated a great deal of the issues I once faced. This is especially important as I am often bound by laws, regulations, contracts, and customer demands to keep up with various tasks. With JumpCloud, I am able to manage everything I need in one place, giving me visibility and control over aspects that I previously had to manage through multiple systems."

Cons

"You need to improvise many of the customized rules, which can lead to some errors. BeyondTrust should reduce the error rate."
"The solution is relatively stable, but not all bugs have been fixed."
"We had some issues with the solution and once we contacted support they eventually solved the problem. They could improve their response time."
"BeyondTrust DevOps Secrets Safe stability in the AD Bridge has been not good, we have had many issues."
"The product contains some bugs."
"The support for the solution is not very good, they could improve by being quicker."
"The sync speed between the JumpCloud instance and the agent could be improved."
"I would like to see some support for printers, especially network printers, through the application."
"I would like AWS to integrate more cloud platforms with JumpCloud, such as Alibaba or Oracle."
"Support is not good enough."
"We started using JumpCloud Password Manager more than a year ago, and I feel some improvements are needed on this password management solution compared to other solutions, as we previously used LastPass."
"JumpCloud could improve the user interface. While it has certainly come a long way, there is still room for improvement in terms of simplifying and making it more intuitive for the user. In my opinion, the UI/UE could benefit from some modifications to enhance the overall user experience. I have suggested some changes to JumpCloud regarding this matter as I believe that they have the potential to further enhance the platform and make it even more user-friendly. There are certain small features within the system that users may not be familiar with, as they may have previously used different systems with different user interfaces."
"They went through a tough year this year with infrastructure and having some large outages."
"The product needs to create its own self-service feature which has been requested by all the admins in the community."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is an annual license required to use BeyondTrust DevOps Secrets Safe."
"The pricing model changed about 18 months ago. It used to be that you got 10 users free, and then you paid for any user above 10 users. Now, when you go above 10 users, you pay for every user. It has become a bit more expensive, but it's such a good product. When you take into account Microsoft licenses, if you were to run Active Directory, you'd need a server to put it on, or you would need a couple of servers, backup, etc. It's a no-brainer. JumpCloud is so much easier to manage from my perspective, regardless of the cost increase. It's just brilliant."
"The solution is pretty expensive."
"The cost was around $5 per user per month."
"The pricing is all on the JumpCloud website. It's not hidden, you don't have to go through a show me a quote type procedure. The pricing is straightforward to understand."
"I rate the product's pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"JumpCloud's monthly license costs around $25 for the complete solution."
"The cost of the solution is approximately $12 per user. However, the cost depends on what modules you're using. They have an all-in-one package and they do have tiers. For example, the more users you have, the cheaper it ends up being in the end too. I know they've done some changes to the pricing model and I haven't been involved in a lot of the licensing lately. I don't know the exact cost at this time."
"I am pretty sure that the cost to acquire JumpCloud is less. They have à la carte or per-user pricing. The pricing is there on their webpage. I am not sure if they have any enterprise pricing or discounts if you have more users. But the overall pricing is less than Okta."
