Provides valuable features such as access keys, container strings, lifecycle management, audit logs, and the soft delete option
Data Lake Storage provides valuable features such as access keys, container strings, lifecycle management, audit logs, and the soft delete option. These features help in cost-saving and provide an excellent mechanism for backing up data. Furthermore, Data Lake Storage can interact with any other Azure resources, providing seamless integration and connectivity.

Email collaboration and accessibility have improved team productivity
The valuable features include the email service, email updates, and Google Drive. People are given email access to Google Drive. The team can share manual files and work accordingly. They can access different teams from anywhere, collectively putting files, sharing them, and managing them. Additionally, the manufacturing product does not require any downgrades. It works fine and continuously for the last three or four years. Users can access their emails from anywhere in their browser without a laptop or can directly access from Gmail. This is helpful for salespeople.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Azure Data Lake itself doesn't have built-in features for handling data on its own. It's used as a collection of data. Tools you can use with it include Azure Data Factory and Databricks."
"Azure Data Lake Storage offers comprehensive integration with a variety of Azure tools, such as SQL servers and the Azure DevOps platform."
"The solution is worth the money because it allows you to gain insights into your business and implement forecasting solutions to predict future trends."
"The tool's most valuable feature is security access policies."
"The most valuable feature of Azure Data Lake Storage is the ability to partition data into various datasets using a directory hierarchy. This folder structure is key for any delivery. Currently, we're not doing much with the data in the tool, but when Databricks comes along, we'll convert it to Parquet format. It's a two-step process: raw data is moved to Parquet, which Databricks can manipulate easily."
"It's a cloud-based tool within the Microsoft ecosystem, offering many benefits for data handling."
"The tool is very safe to use. It is impossible to hack the product."
"The response time and quality offered by the support team are good."
"The solution offers a workflow where we can collaborate and share documents. Its most valuable features are Gmail and Google Drive. Google Drive is great for file collaboration. It improves productivity. The product is on the cloud; we don't have to connect to the office through a VPN."
"The solution is very stable."
"It's a secure solution that enables you to choose those you wish to share with."
"The solution is very intuitive."
"Google Chat is the most valuable feature of the solution."
"It is quite a useful tool. It allows many people to work on a document. You can actually provide review comments and tag anybody to make the comment changes. You can also attach a document in Google Chat."
"The initial setup of Google Workspace is straightforward."
"Good performance, even on relatively slow connections; no local apps required."

Cons

"I suggest enhancing the connectors for improvement. Some software, like HubSpot and Xero, has connectors, but they're limited to a few fields. That's why we use REST API calls instead. It would be better if the connectors could retrieve all data."
"One improvement I'd suggest is the out-of-the-box conversion of input data, like spreadsheet or table data, to various formats. We'll be using Parquet, which enables transactional integrity."
"The version was a bit outdated compared to the newer Microsoft Data Fabric offerings."
"Currently, Azure Data Lake Storage has blob, table, and file share, but no vector feature."
"It would be beneficial if some AI features were added."
"The documentation could be more user-friendly with better tutorials."
"Improvement is needed in the migration process from Lakehouse to Enterprise Data Lake (EDL). Currently, migration is only one-way possible, and it would be beneficial if this aspect could be improved."
"The speed of support response needs to improve, especially for critical, high-priority issues. Having a quick SLA response time is crucial."
"There's a bit of a learning curve."
"Our users have faced an issue with increasing their email quotas over the last three months."
"I don't recommend Google Workspace to others. It's expensive. Also, Google doesn't have enough oversight on their partners, so you will face some difficulties dealing with them instead of directly with Google."
"Google needs to improve its support."
"The synchronization is a bit of an issue."
"Expensive with a complicated licensing structure."
"We need more functionality with Google Sheets"
"The tool should improve its on-prem capabilities to include people who are working offline. The pricing is also a challenge for both the Indian and overseas markets. The tool has a cap of 300 licenses. The product's price has also increased by 10 percent. Businesses are struggling to justify the ROI. Users cannot block emails unless they have a strong firewall."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"From one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price as five."
"I rate the product price as two or three, where one is high, and ten is low. The product's price is really high."
"Compared to other options we've explored, I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"The tool is cheap, depending on the services and requirements you need."
"Pricing is tricky because it depends on the solution you're building and the type of Data Lake storage you use—hot or cold."
"It's a pay-as-you-go model. Your charges are based on the amount of data you store."
"One of the most affordable products from the vendor"
"It costs just a few dollars per terabyte per month."
"I can't recall the exact pricing per user for Google Workspace, but I know it's not that expensive. I'm in a mid-sized company that's able to maintain and afford Google Workspace, so it has competitive pricing, and I would rate its price as four out of five."
"The pricing is a bit on the higher side than normal. For a basic Google account it costs $100, but Enterprise is %150."
"The pricing is very high, although I cannot tell if this is the result of the Indian vendors artificially inflating it."
"Licensing costs are on a yearly basis."
"It's about $8.30 up a user per month."
"We pay a monthly subscription for the use of this solution."
"Approximately $6 per user, per month."
"The pricing of Google Workspace, so far, has been reasonable."
