We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most significant advantage lies in its runbook features, particularly beneficial for our infrastructure team.""It provides all the security to us. Without getting on the internet, we can access our servers. We can access our desktop through our web browser. We don't need to run the mstsc command and login to the VM. All those things are not required.""The connection to virtual machines is very useful.""The product's setup is easy.""As an Azure consultant, for me, it is the best way to give the administrator access as you can manage the permission - including who can access Bastion.""The interface is available in the edit portal.""Azure Bastion makes it easy to provide quick virtual machine access to our customers.""The ability to operate the product with scripting is excellent."

"Remote access is really the biggest one, because in order to be able to support my clients from wherever I am, that is the biggest feature.""For me, it's convenience because I cover three different offices, and I need to be able to remotely access any of those three offices from anywhere, anytime. With LogMeIn Central, I can do that.""I have called for help to their technical support, and they have been extremely helpful.""I like the security aspect, that I can glance down and see quickly who's up to date on patches, and who has virus concerns.""Unattended remote assistance.""It’s enabled me to remotely do updates to servers and workstations in off-hours – without needing to travel into the office. Makes my life much easier.""The initial setup was simple.""It is a scalable solution."

Cons
"The protocol speed could be faster.""There are some challenges because Bastion is more compatible with Edge but not with the other browsers. As an organization, it doesn't make sense that we have to use only Edge. We should be able to access Bastion over Chrome, Mozilla, or Opera. It should be our choice.""While general support is valuable, having a detailed breakdown of the specific issues would contribute to a more streamlined and efficient resolution process.""We are not able to copy and paste files directly into the server over the patch host. We have to transfer files over to Azure Storage.""The solution breaks down sometimes.""You are charged for retrieving your own data.""When you have a boot issue on Windows, you cannot use Azure Bastion to fix it. You have to use the Azure console or the VM console, and it is very limited."

More Azure Bastion Cons →

"The solution is expensive as hell.""They should provide intermediate device limit options for the users.""I have had issues where LogMeIn has not been useful, then we have not been able to work that day. This happens probably two or three times a year.""The update issues are an absolute pain. It says it is updating things, but the updates do not go through, and you try your hardest to get the updates to go through and they don't. You go to the PC, but there is no update there, then you go back and it says there are updates.""There are some screens that are just ugly and difficult to manipulate.""Compared to other products, I feel that their biggest weakness has been customer service. They are very nice, but things take forever to resolve. It has been a major issue there. Otherwise, we're happy. We haven't moved away from them because we haven't found anybody with comparable pricing for our business model.""File transfer on the free version needs improvement. Allow file transfer with drag and drop to and from Remote Desktop. ""LogMeIn Rescue could be made a lot easier where you could just tell the person where to go and log in, and they could just log in. Or even make it simpler where you could just send a file to a person and they would click on it; just something easier. The way they have it right now, it's not easy."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is a lower decision point than high-quality security for our organization. Better security comes at a cost, but it's worth it, and that's what we tell our customers."
  • "Azure Bastion's pricing is good."
  • "It does not save money for us."

  • "It sucks that I am paying for LogMeIn Central, LogMeIn Pro, and LogMeIn Rescue, plus LogMeIn Ignition, which is the mobile app. It costs me a lot of money every month at LogMeIn. "
  • "It really is an expensive product for me."
  • "Pricing is a little on the expensive side, compared to what TeamViewer has offered."
  • "It used to be a lot cheaper but then the price shot up (doubled over the span of two years), but it's hard to switch, and most competing products are similarly priced anyway."
  • "Pricing is a little high. They require for LogMeIn Central to go into brackets. If you go over a certain amount of PCs or servers to access, going up to the next bracket is a big jump."
  • "The price is a little high but it's competitive. The licensing process is fairly easy."
  • "It's probably worth the value, but the price increases over the last five years are getting harder to justify."
  • "We went with it for pricing reasons, that it was the biggest bang for our buck, by combining the ability to have a central security console, as well as a central point for user administration."

    Overview

Azure Bastion is a service you deploy that lets you connect to a virtual machine using your browser and the Azure portal. The Azure Bastion service is a fully platform-managed PaaS service that you provision inside your virtual network. It provides secure and seamless RDP/SSH connectivity to your virtual machines directly from the Azure portal over TLS. When you connect via Azure Bastion, your virtual machines do not need a public IP address, agent, or special client software.

LogMeIn Central enables you to effectively monitor, manage, and secure your endpoint infrastructure with a robust endpoint management feature set.
