We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We use a local Active Directory, but we weren't able to manage all our on-site systems without a solution like Intune, and we needed to deploy software like VPNs and other things. It's seamless now to to this through Intune.""The stability is good.""We have a BYOD policy, and this solution helps us manage our devices.""Among the most valuable features are the Company Portal that is built into Intune, and the update rings so that we can manage what types of future updates the devices get.""We are using the mobile feature, and we are also using MDM to lock the devices, to push restrictions, et cetera""Maturity makes it a stable product.""...Intune itself integrates with that entire Microsoft ecosystem. As an individual product itself, it's okay. It holds up. But when you start saying "I've bought this as part of a wider solution, as a company we are going Microsoft throughout," then it makes more sense to have Microsoft Intune... so you have that single dashboard.""The most valuable includes managing everything from a single console."

"The CloudFormation template can be reused to create multiple stacks, reducing duplications and improving our infrastructure.""The most beneficial aspect lies in its capability to handle input acquisition and assessment.""With CloudFormation, there is no need to use complicated coding.""The most valuable features of AWS CloudFormation are all the resources documentation is located in one location, simple resource reverting, and ease of use of the full package for new users.""The integration of the solution is very good.""CloudFormation gives us control of AWS and any Cloud infrastructure. It creates the whole stack for Cloud services technologies so it's easy to manage the whole system.""Its ability to treat infrastructure's code is valuable. It makes things automatable and reproducible.""It allows defining the infrastructure as code using templates, which describe the desired state of the infrastructure."

"The compliance management, patching, and OS upgrades are useful features.""The log audit and historical configurations are the most valuable feature.""The network security of BMC TrueSight Network Automation has been the best feature.""It has the best automation features.""We use it to back up configurations so the configuration management is valuable for us.""This product has helped us because we can now do many tasks at once. Rather than copy one file to one device, we can do an entire group at one time.""The most valuable feature of BMC TrueSight Network Automation is compliance management, configuration backup, and configuration management.""Depending on who's looking at the data, they need to configure that data in different ways, and the dashboards help us to do that better than what was previously available."

Cons
"Its configuration is fairly complicated. You have to do quite a bit of discovery to be able to deploy it for a customer. You have to ask them a lot of questions. So, its initial deployment is the biggest challenge. They should make it easier to deploy with the use of Wizards or something else. During the deployment stage, there could be profiles for the customers who are particularly wanting to use certain feature sets of Intune.""It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console.""There is room for improvement in integrating additional features such as Purview and SharePoint activities into Intune.""Enhancements for managing MacOS more comprehensively would be beneficial.""There needs to be more support for Mac operating systems.""From a new user's perspective, it may be a little overwhelming because there are quite a few things to look at in the console, however, once you are sort of acclimated and are familiar with your core functions, it's fairly simple and straightforward.""The current Intune reporting functionality could benefit from some improvements.""The UI is not user-friendly and has room for improvement."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"Provisioning a large environment or a large number of services takes a bit more time than with Terraform.""The conditions that can be added in AWS CloudFormation are not as powerful as any programming language.""The solution must enable more hands-on designing of the templates.""Error-handling features can be improved.""Creating the inline policies is not great.""Including certain examples of templates would be advantageous.""This tool is not intuitive and there are others that are easier to understand.""The solution needs to offer better support to other cloud vendors."

More AWS CloudFormation Cons →

"We've been working with BMC support in various ways such as to allow for the high-availability components to the TSIMs to work together. There have been issues there. We've seen randomness in how other pieces of the software work. Integration with the Presentation Server and the TSIMs has been a challenge. The ports that are required for HA to be utilized were not clearly documented anywhere. In fact, they still aren't documented online anywhere, even though we managed to pull it out of some of their support people.""BMC TrueSight Network Automation can improve by having a better UI. The overall quality of the UI could be better.""The product should be expanded to include more hardware, beyond Cisco and Juniper devices.""I believe there could be new features in terms of the latest technology.""I'd like to be able to get more devices into compliance with standards, but that means running additional rule sets and that takes time.""It is tedious to scale the solution.""For customized compliance, it takes some effort to implement things. If the device configuration is quite complex, then you have to do quite number of customizations in the DNA tool for out-of-the-box compliance. These regular expressions have to be modified based on the requirements of the compliance.""They need to have a single sign-on."

    Overview

Microsoft Intune is a comprehensive cloud-based service that allows you to remotely manage mobile devices and mobile applications without worrying about the security of your organization’s data. Device and app management can be used on company-owned devices as well as personal devices.

In an increasingly mobile workforce, Microsoft Intune keeps your sensitive data safe while on the move. Microsoft Intune makes it possible for your team members to work anywhere using their mobile devices. Microsoft Intune provides both the flexibility and the control needed for securing all your data on the cloud, no matter where the device with the data is located.

Microsoft Intune Device Management Key Features

With Microsoft Intune Device Management you can:

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

AWS CloudFormation provides a common language for you to model and provision AWS and third party application resources in your cloud environment. AWS CloudFormation allows you to use programming languages or a simple text file to model and provision, in an automated and secure manner, all the resources needed for your applications across all regions and accounts. This gives you a single source of truth for your AWS and third party resources.

Network automation and management software reduces network outages and downtime by automating configuration, change and compliance processes. Organizations depend on high performance across their network to keep the business running at peak efficiency but new security threats make it hard for network administrators to keep pace with the demands for new services and safeguard the health of the network.
