Video meetings and presentation sharing impress but user-friendliness and pricing need attention
I don't have experience with how Avaya Spaces handles integration with other software tools, but perhaps my partners have experience regarding integration with different vendors. If Avaya can integrate Spaces with other media solutions, such as WhatsApp or WeChat, it will be more friendly and useful for customers or partners.

One suggestion I would make for improving Slack Business - Enterprise is the support of multimedia such as images and videos that we can easily share through Slack. That would be great. Additionally, another thing is AI integration; if Slack has some AI capabilities to get insights about conversations or summarization, that would be a great feature. If Slack has an AI feature that can summarize a particular Slack thread and provide a summary of that, that would be a great feature for us. I would rate it a ten if it comes with some AI features, particularly using generative AI to produce summarization and other kinds of insights from communication in a more secure, data-secure way.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The microphone's noise cancellation and static feature that record a human's voice are some of the most valuable features."
"Stability for Avaya Spaces is quite good, and I would rate it a 9."
"We use the solution for document sharing, video conferencing, instant messaging, and file sharing."
"It has become easier to use than Teams, which is the main benefit of Slack Business - Enterprise; it is simple and connected."
"The huddle feature that allows you to get on a call with a colleague is one of the best features of Slack."
"The product is user-friendly."
"The portal is at its best version now."
"We use thread-based communication. So that if a new person comes to look into a problem for a particular task, they can easily go and look into the particular thread it is discussed in."
"The integration with Google Calendar is easy to use and allows us to receive notifications before meetings."
"One thing I like about Slack is the ability to change the color of Slack. It depends on my mood. When I'm having a bright day, I just change the background color of my Slack, which is nice."
"Slack helps me to read bulk messages."

Cons

"There were some additional features coming up, as they informed us through email. But we didn't get any update on them."
"The initial setup for Avaya Spaces is very good for me, but for sharing with other users, the setup is a little bit complex compared to other solutions I have used, such as Zoom or Teams, as the installation is more complex."
"The audio calling service needs to improve its quality."
"Notifications are not as good as they could be (especially for mobile)."
"When showing screens during calls, the screen sharing functionality is not as smooth as Google's offering. It appears to be designed for short calls, which limits its effectiveness for longer sessions."
"I would like to see the social sharing of blogs, announcements, or other news directly from the message corner."
"Customization is something that Slack is lacking."
"Slack feels clustered and hence it should improve its design and UI."
"Slack is not as strong as competitors like Teams when it comes to things like video meetings and audio meetings."
"The product crashes when I use it on the desktop."
"Slack's screen sharing might also add the remote control feature, which is not there."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The license grants you a subscription and costs about $120. I am not aware of additional costs."
"The tool's pricing could be cheaper."
"It's on the more expensive side."
"The solution is expensive."
"The solution’s pricing is cheap."
"It is an affordable solution."
"When it comes to pricing, it is on the expensive side."
"The pricing can range up to about twenty bucks a user. You can spend a lot of money, especially if you're talking about thousands of users. Generally speaking, Slack is less expensive than Teams. Slack doesn't include all the bells and whistles that Teams does. So you can go from a $6 license in Microsoft 365 to a $50 license per user per month, and there's a lot more you can do in the $50 license."
"It is less expensive than one of its competitors."
