Network automation has reduced troubleshooting time and supports faster issue resolution
The biggest and best feature I have experienced with Auvik Network Management (ANM) is automatic network discovery, along with features such as topology map, instant alerts, real-time monitoring, easy remote access, and simple dashboards. Among those features, I find automatic network discovery to be the most useful because it gives a clear picture of the entire network without having to create manual diagrams. It is very easy to use Auvik Network Management (ANM), so even a new team member can quickly understand the network because everything is displayed in a very clear way. Auvik Network Management (ANM) has positively impacted our organization by reducing troubleshooting time, improving network visibility, providing a very clear picture, and helping us support multiple client networks and environments very efficiently. We have noticed a 35 to 40% improvement in troubleshooting speed, less manual work in documenting any network system, faster responses to network issues, and better uptime with the client networks.

ThreatSync+ NDR has helped identify potential security gaps in my network, and we are currently working on resolving them. The impact on incident response time varies. During daytime operations, it reacts instantly with a notification delay of 10 to 20 minutes, while nighttime notifications can have up to eight hours delay. ThreatSync+ NDR has enhanced our ability to proactively manage network risks by enabling us to implement extra measures at a lower level based on its findings. The compliance reporting tools are comprehensive and meet our requirements. Though we haven't conducted official compliance reporting yet, we anticipate it will save approximately one day of work in report compilation. Regarding pricing, WatchGuard rates a nine out of ten. We maintain 1,001 licenses for ThreatSync+ NDR, serving approximately 1,000 users, with about 300 local users in the UK. ThreatSync+ NDR's effectiveness in identifying weaknesses before exploitation is excellent and very quick. I recommend ThreatSync+ NDR to other users based on its rapid deployment and immediate value delivery. I rate ThreatSync+ NDR 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Auvik has alerts that help you be proactive by telling you when something is behaving abnormally."
"The SNMP discovery features are impressive; few products are as robust in their abilities, and it discovered objects I didn't think it would."
"The network flow piece is the most useful. We can identify the busiest parts of the network based on the reporting from the switches about what is utilizing the most bandwidth on specific switch ports. I can narrow down which segments of the network might be having issues."
"Monitoring is probably the most active thing Auvik does for us. If a particular device on the network goes down, we have that granularity to see which network element is causing the problem."
"The network management piece has been the most advantageous. First, it alerts us about network devices that are under duress or having issues. Second, it has historical data. That allows us to go back, if, for instance, a switch is having problems, and see if it is something that trends at a certain time of the day, or a certain day of the week."
"They have this live chat feature that's available most of the time, and they respond quickly. The support team can access what you're asking them to look at immediately and typically resolve issues quickly. Most of my problems are addressed during the chat session and don't require a follow-up email or phone call."
"The mapping is excellent as it allows us to see where elements connect and got us out of a few binds. I accidentally wiped the configuration of three Meraki 48-Port Switches, and we could see each of the VLANs and their configurations using the solution. We utilized Auvik to see how individual ports were configured, which allowed us to get back up with much less effort than if we hadn't had Auvik."
"The traffic insights feature shows us our network bandwidth usage without the need for expensive inline traffic decryption. It's very important to us. Knowing exactly what's going on, what traffic is flowing over my network is very much an important thing for me to know. We know that policies and procedures are being followed. And so we know that nobody is doing anything that they shouldn't be doing on a company network."
"ThreatSync NDR is a strong addition to our company's security architecture."
"Implementing ThreatSync+ NDR has influenced our business significantly as it provides enhanced security and saves several hours daily by eliminating manual log reviews."

Cons

"I would like Auvik to alert on IP conflicts."
"It's missing the license checker feature. We are using Salesforce and the license is a really crucial part of the development, and we have to monitor it. Now, I have to write a script and then run it on a random Linux box and get a notification if it's expiring. It's a really specific feature. I'm not sure Auvik will develop it."
"Implementing a configurable dashboard for the network map would enhance user experience in this regard."
"Auvik could have better compatibility with more devices. The devices that we're using are essential within our network infrastructure. It would be great to access the full range of features that some of the other ones do, such as the device configuration backups and the configuration change alert."
"I would like to see Auvik have some more documentation with a typical CM solution like Splunk."
"Because we can't monitor as we would like, we aren't introducing anything more to the platform at the moment."
"It needs flexibility for the pooling of information. Because it is fully automated, it is pooling everything from the device from a given category. There is no way to exclude things that are not important or if you want to temporarily remove them to see statistics of other things. For example, we get about 100 MB from Auvik. We are unable to limit this. We would rather stop monitoring something, since some features will always give you alerts, because they shouldn't be monitored. However, it is impossible to exclude them, e.g., the internal interface. If somebody disconnects the device from the internal interface, we get an alert. So, this is something that is really painful for us. More flexibility would solve most of our issues."
"Sometimes it's a little bit slow to load, but I can't think of anything else that could be improved."
"After using ThreatSync+ NDR for about a year, areas for improvement include the ability to pull logs from other vendors using an API."
"There are definitely areas for improvements in ThreatSync NDR, as no product is perfect. Its effectiveness depends on proper network visibility, so if important traffic segments are not mirrored or monitored, detection may be incomplete."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I don't know how much the solution costs, but the fact that we've moved almost all of our customers over to it means it must be worth the value. Our platforms are costly, but we switched to Auvik, so the company must see it as cost-effective."
"I don't have any insight into the cost, as another department handles that."
"It is a little more on the expensive side, but I feel that it is a premium product. It is good."
"Auvik is affordable. The license was under $4,000 annually for our setup. That covers a lot of switches, firewalls, and integration. It was well worth the price. I think it's around $20 per device per quarter."
"For us, it has been good. I do not get too much into the pricing side. We are an MSP, so we have a number of clients, and we are utilizing Auvik as a way for us to be able to better manage and support our clients. The more clients we bring into Auvik, the better the pricing, so we have been happy with how it is."
"Compared to other products, Auvik's pricing is more feasible since you get all its features. You pay for licenses on a per network device basis. It monitors hypervisors, but does not bill for that. There are no additional costs, which is something that I like."
"Auvik's pricing is fair overall, but some advanced stuff is a little expensive. I like that the licensing model is based on switches instead of endpoints. We don't use some of the more advanced features because they're a little beyond our price range. We're using the tool internally, but the expense is passed on to the customer, and the advanced features aren't something that most customers are willing to pay for."
"The pricing is reasonable, neither exceptionally cheap nor excessively expensive—it aligns well with what I anticipated."
