Network automation has reduced troubleshooting time and supports faster issue resolution
The biggest and best feature I have experienced with Auvik Network Management (ANM) is automatic network discovery, along with features such as topology map, instant alerts, real-time monitoring, easy remote access, and simple dashboards. Among those features, I find automatic network discovery to be the most useful because it gives a clear picture of the entire network without having to create manual diagrams. It is very easy to use Auvik Network Management (ANM), so even a new team member can quickly understand the network because everything is displayed in a very clear way. Auvik Network Management (ANM) has positively impacted our organization by reducing troubleshooting time, improving network visibility, providing a very clear picture, and helping us support multiple client networks and environments very efficiently. We have noticed a 35 to 40% improvement in troubleshooting speed, less manual work in documenting any network system, faster responses to network issues, and better uptime with the client networks.

Centralized monitoring has reduced outages and enables faster diagnosis across all database servers
The best features Redgate Monitor offers include detailed resource monitoring, instant alerts, and easy customization. A user can quickly see how your server is performing and which queries are taking the longest. The instant alerts and customizable options help since it is a multiple-platform database observability for the entire estate. I use this to optimize performance, ensure security, and mitigate potential risks with fast, deep-dive analysis and intelligent alerting. I love Redgate Monitor because it helps manage an entire database estate from a single pane of glass. Redgate Monitor has positively impacted my organization by creating database observability to proactively mitigate potential risks with instant problem diagnosis and customizable alerting. It accelerates daily database maintenance by automating time-consuming manual tasks, such as identifying long-running queries or tracking blocked processes, which frees up time to proactively improve the performance and security of servers. I have seen time savings from twenty percent to forty-five percent. It also helps to minimize downtime.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Among the most valuable features are the hardware life cycle and configuration backups, when applicable... When it does show you the hardware life cycle for, say, a Cisco device and the configuration backup, that's the most useful aspect for me as a network engineer."
"The impact of Auvik Network Management on reducing business disruptions related to network issues is significant."
"I've found the topology mesh graph helpful, and I like the other features that factor into my work with Kubernetes."
"I love the alerting. With a single pane of glass, it's able to tell me that there's a firewall error, or that something is offline, there is a switch configuration error, or a configuration change has taken place on a certain device."
"It saved us a significant amount of time by bringing everything under one roof."
"Because we can do different things in one place, like investigate network issues, it has definitely saved us time; something like 20 percent."
"The most valuable aspect of Auvik Network Management is its remote management capabilities."
"The alerting feature has been a very key piece for us, especially in the data center because we manage it ourselves... Within the data center, we have an RDS farm that all the users from the facility connect to. Whenever something may be slow, we can look at the alerting and it helps us troubleshoot whether the issue is at the facility level or at an infrastructure level."
"Redgate Monitor has impacted our organization positively by helping us simplify day-to-day tasks and realize a feeling of security."
"Redgate Monitor has positively impacted my organization by creating database observability to proactively mitigate potential risks with instant problem diagnosis and customizable alerting."
"Overall, I truly love Redgate Monitor and would recommend it to anyone in database administration, but I also recognize that improvements and upgrades, especially concerning its AI features, are essential for ongoing development."

Cons

"I require the monitoring of Linux devices and it doesn't support them."
"The automation side needs improvement."
"The user interface is not intuitive."
"Also, the points on the network map will sometimes shift. They will be connected one way, but they will be connected a different way after I refresh. This doesn't happen often, but when it does, I question the reliability of our network map."
"There's room for improvement in the interface."
"It sometimes lags, especially in larger deployments."
"While the asset management features are helpful for basic network inventory, increased customization for data presentation would be beneficial."
"The map would be the first thing I would like to see improved because sometimes the maps get really odd-looking and the automated placement of things on the map, devices on the map is sometimes not right. In fact, I was just looking at the map and something got moved. I'm sure it didn't get moved, it's just that Auvik realized it was supposed to go somewhere else. So the map could be better if there was a little bit of manual manipulation that you could do."
"It is a bit expensive for MSPs to use for their day-to-day monitoring."
"For improvement, I think Redgate Monitor's alert customization depth could be enhanced; I would appreciate more granular control over notification rules such as user permissions and alert grouping, as well as attention towards resource usage since Redgate Monitor can be resource-intensive."
"Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I must say I don't favor the subscription model, and the price is somewhat higher."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is favorable."
"Auvik is affordable. The license was under $4,000 annually for our setup. That covers a lot of switches, firewalls, and integration. It was well worth the price. I think it's around $20 per device per quarter."
"The initial offer was high, but I was able to negotiate it down."
"I would love to be able to get into the tier with the sys logging and the NetFlow/sFlow. That tier is a little bit expensive for us. If that could come down a little bit in price, we would be using that everywhere."
"I don't know how much the solution costs, but the fact that we've moved almost all of our customers over to it means it must be worth the value. Our platforms are costly, but we switched to Auvik, so the company must see it as cost-effective."
"I love the pricing. It makes a lot of sense. It allows you to use your own metal, which is great because it enables us to go higher-end for some clients and lower-end for others... Even having the flexibility to switch clients between the Performance (expert) and the Essentials (simple) version of Auvik, on the fly, is really unheard of."
"The price for Auvik is affordable."
"It can get expensive quickly if we monitor a lot of devices, which is unfortunate because we have a lot of devices to monitor."
