Real-time alerting enhances network monitoring, but interface and network mapping need improvement

The interface is good yet could be improved. There are many elements that could be changed in the interface itself. There should be some sort of chart or alerting within the dashboard. In the overview section, these features are currently absent. When you get an alert, you must go to notifications, then within the device to identify the issue. It would be beneficial if everything was visible immediately upon logging in to the overview, such as machine performance and other metrics. Regarding the network map and visibility, there are some issues. Many people have mentioned that the network map needs improvement, especially when handling numerous items. Currently, I have everything in place: printers, monitors, laptops, switches, and access points. However, I have three switches showing outside of the loop without explanation. This issue is persistent, not occasional. These switches appear disconnected in the corner, even though they are connected and online according to other platforms. The presentation aspect needs significant improvement. We have government-related clients, and taking a screenshot of the current network mapping to send to them appears unprofessional. Although Auvik Network Management (ANM) provides network mapping, I still need to create my own network diagram to make it presentable for clients.

So, we have another service that does that for us. It would be nice to have that integrated into this, but at the moment, we have a way around it, which is with another partner of ours."

You're paying for your firewalls and devices that appear on the network. If you have a smaller organization with an extensive network, your revenue won't be able to support that cost. "It is amazing in keeping device inventories up-to-date. It mostly keeps them up to date as things change. There were a couple of hiccups where a device would get replaced and the mapping would break, and we'd have to go in and fix the mapping. It was with devices that Auvik couldn't fully discover or devices that would change frequently, such as cell phones or other devices on the network that are dynamic and change all the time. The integration would just show up with an IP address and a MAC address. There was no other information in them, which wasn't very helpful. They were the devices that Auvik wasn't able to discover fully. If they had full SNMP or SSH credentials and Auvik knew what the device was and it was matched correctly in Auvik, then Auvik could push it through."

"The network maps can be confusing due to the wide scope of the network, making it difficult to find specific details."

"The biggest area for improvement is the speed of the website because it's not something we host. Each of our clients hosts an agent that gathers the logs and pushes it up. The website can be slow to click around in or click through."
