Ruckus Wireless and Aruba Instant compete in the wireless networking category. Based on their features, Ruckus Wireless appears to have the upper hand due to its innovative BeamFlex technology, which offers superior performance in challenging environments.
Features: Ruckus Wireless is known for its innovative BeamFlex technology, adaptive antenna arrays, and excellent Wi-Fi coverage. It offers ease of management, advanced mesh networking, and reliable connection performance. Ruckus is also noted for durability and reliability in the field. Aruba Instant, on the other hand, is praised for its cloud management capabilities, role-based access control, and cost-effectiveness. It integrates well with IoT devices and provides flexible deployment options suitable for small to medium-sized businesses.
Room for Improvement: Ruckus Wireless could improve its adaptability in denser environments and enhance cloud controller functionality. It also needs better documentation and a reduction in the high cost of its high-end solutions. Aruba Instant can improve its network performance monitoring and offer enhanced technical support. Its cloud management lacks in comparison to competitors, and integration with IoT devices could be more robust.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Ruckus Wireless offers various deployment models, including on-premises and hybrid cloud options. It provides strong support and customer service, although ease of use and training could be improved. Aruba Instant also supports on-premises and public cloud options and has generally well-rated customer service, though it could improve responsiveness in technical support.
Pricing and ROI: Ruckus Wireless is more expensive but provides good ROI due to high performance and reduced need for multiple access points with BeamFlex technology. Despite higher upfront costs, it offers a competitive edge. Aruba Instant is a cost-effective solution with no licensing fees, appreciated for its affordability, especially for small and medium businesses looking for a budget-friendly wireless solution.
Overall, it's a fair pricing and good in terms of cost-effectiveness or ROI.
I rate Aruba TAC as a 9 out of 10.
The technical support from Aruba is of high quality, and I would rate it a ten.
I have contacted Ruckus support through our managed services vendor, but the responses have been delayed, possibly due to the vendor.
I find Aruba Instant to be highly scalable.
With the Ruckus R1 Cloud, I just need to put it into the venue, and it will automatically sync up and configure itself.
Aruba is a known name in the market providing sufficient support for all these products.
Some features are not listed in the cloud management platform and still require offline access, so enhancing the cloud management features would be better for us.
An important missing feature is the console port, which allows direct management without the cloud.
The current reporting is limited to 30 days, and it would be helpful if there was an option to extend it to one year.
We do not sell very expensive devices as we move to other products.
However, when compared to entry-level market segments, the price is higher.
Ruckus Wireless is quite economical compared to Meraki or Cisco Umbrella APs.
I highly value Aruba Instant for its ClearPass feature, which is an exceptional product for network access control and works as a NAC solution.
Aruba Instant's intrusion detection feature stands for application visibility and includes their latest technology such as Wi-Fi 6E and remote monitoring capability.
The most beneficial features for network management are the price and the cloud console.
The most valuable feature of Ruckus Wireless is its AI capability, which automatically scales up and down the coverage areas.
