Enhanced compliance and security through detailed action recordings
We have used ARCON Privileged Access Management for recording videos of user actions taken after logging into systems. Around thirty people, including network engineers, server engineers, and application engineers, use it in the company There hasn't been a notable financial benefit for our…

Enhanced device administration hindered by complex deployment and security limitations
Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) needs to improve the profiling preauthentication. They are very poor in asset classification and should focus on improving the preauthentication profiling, especially for NAC use cases. This will give them a roadmap for software-defined access (SDA) use cases and network segmentation. Threat detection capabilities are very weak. Additionally, the product is vulnerable and has many bugs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One of the main benefits we've experienced is that Arcon helps us manage all our team's tasks and provides recording capabilities."
"By manually keeping the user logs, we can understand and manage all the operationalized tasks."
"Recording all videos of commands entered into devices is highly valuable."
"The session management capabilities are helpful. The session recording feature for system handling is good. It also eliminates the need to open many ports for end-users, simplifying access."
"The initial setup is very straightforward. It's not complex at all."
"They don't just stick to a base version; instead, they actively enhance and improve it based on client feedback and industry trends."
"The entire conversation that is happening between the servers and the client is recorded. It is a good feature if you want to do some analysis, and for investigation."
"That dashboard is okay."
"The most valuable feature is AnyConnect Posture because it scans all the programs on the workstation and checks if the antivirus is up to date, as well as the cryptographic keys on our SSD."
"So far, we have had no issues with the stability."
"The integration with Active Directory is the most valuable feature for us."
"We have multiple metal devices from different places that use management, so we need to know who would be accessing all those devices and what changes are being done to those metal devices. With Cisco ISE we have visibility of all the changes happening on those devices."
"Cisco ISE's integration with other external identity servers like Duende is very simple and easy."
"The WiFi portal in Cisco ISE is very useful for WiFi customers."
"I love the policy sets, they are really nice and dynamic."
"The solution offers automation and real-time visibility, which aids in monitoring and troubleshooting issues with endpoints."

Cons

"We expect improvement in the dashboards to provide visibility of password compliance status, whenever a password is opened from the vault. Also, flexibility to customize the live dashboard."
"The product is browser dependent. As of now, it only works on Internet Explorer from the client side. Admins cannot use any other browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) to access the client manager online."
"A few areas for improvement in ARCON would be performance optimization, ensuring smoother management."
"The deployment process is a bit complex because no document is available."
"The usability should be expanded to other browsers like Chrome and Firefox."
"It would be helpful to have a "Favorites" list. For example, if I have 100 servers but I only go to 10 servers frequently, a Favorites list would allow me to go through those ten servers only."
"Currently, along with the upgrade of the ARCON solution, we have to consider the desktops and the endpoints from where the solution will have to be accessed. We have to upgrade those endpoints and desktops as well. So upgrades are not smooth."
"The auto-password change feature which was recently added. It is supposed to change the password. However, in some cases, while changing the password, it has caused me to lose to connection due to network-related issues or something similar. What we need to have is a type of log for failure of password change."
"The Guest Network verification needs to add a QR code option."
"They should improve the upgrades. It's not easy to upgrade the solution."
"Sometimes some of Cisco ISE's graphical interfaces could be a little bit smoother. However, with the different versions, the product is getting better and better."
"Cisco could improve the GUIs on their hardware."
"I think some areas where ISE could be better are perhaps in the number of integrations that they offer from a virtual standpoint, as well as having a better and more comprehensive pathway for the customer to go from a physical environment to a virtual one."
"Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) needs to improve the profiling preauthentication."
"The product is expensive. It would also be a good add-on to have some machine learning."
"I would like to see integration with other vendors, and the RADIUS integration needs to be improved a little bit."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"They do have some licenses, which are required for things like Linux servers. However, in my environment, we do not have Linux servers."
"The product's pricing is a good value. It's appropriately priced. The product has all the required features. It doesn't work in some of the areas but, right now overall, it's pretty good."
"The product is available with competitive pricing. Licensing is not complex. We calculated the license requirements by counting the number of admins and the number of devices which were going to integrate with it."
"ARCON Privileged Access Management's pricing is reasonable."
"The solution’s pricing is neither cheap nor expensive."
"The cost of this product is very cheap, comparatively in the global market."
"Product pricing is based on users and connections. We did not have to pay more for additional features."
"The licensing is simple, and there are only two types licensing: device licensing and user-based licensing."
"The price is a bit on the high side."
"The solution is not that cheap."
"Licensing has got much simpler since Cisco moved to the DNA model because we just have the three tiers, but it could always stand to be improved upon."
"It would be beneficial to have a single license that included all of the features."
"I believe I have paid around $1,000 in licensing fees. The license is annual."
"In general, licensing can be quite complex with Cisco products. It would be nice if it was a bit more intuitive and had fewer "gotchas" in there."
"In terms of the licensing and the pricing structure of the Cisco Identity Services Engine, there's been a huge advantage to our clients recently with the advent of the enterprise agreement."
"The price of the solution is price fair for the features you receive."
