Enhanced data security with seamless integration and static website capabilities
S3 is a great service offering numerous possibilities. It allows for storing objects and files of various types. I appreciate its capability to create static websites and integrate with services like CloudFront, EC2, and DynamoDB. Despite being focused on security, I leverage features such as cryptography and integration with CloudTrail.

Good support, highly scalable, and a great cloud-like experience on-prem
Moving to a consumption model is highly desirable from the client side. everyone seems to be moving in that direction. It provides a cloud-like experience on-prem. It simplified it for the most part. When you look at a lot of the storage and historically how it's been done, you're doing a lot of forecasting, a lot of business justification, a lot of purchasing of hardware, and oversizing for growth, et cetera. The pay-as-you-go model is a much more simplified way of doing things. And it offers more flexibility. The scale capacity improves and simplifies the experience in terms of growth and performance. A lot of clients I work with have performance requirements. I work heavily in financial and healthcare segments and those need 24/7/365 performance with no downtime. GreenLake helped to reduce our operational expenses.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Amazon S3's best features are its reliability and capacity to expand."
"Amazon S3 is easily scalable and provides fantastic performance, especially in comparison to other cloud solutions like OCI and Azure."
"Amazon S3 is a storage bucket service with good stability."
"S3 is well suited for both big and little data repositories of objects ranging from backup to archive to active video images and much more."
"We appreciate that this solution is relatively easy to use, straightforward, and reliable."
"The most useful features of Amazon S3 are the intelligent multipart upload."
"The users have nothing to worry about as the solution is well established."
"The most valuable feature is the storage."
"Moving to a consumption model is highly desirable from the client side. everyone seems to be moving in that direction."
"The feature I like is that I can create a template and apply it to multiple switches. I don't have to do the same task on every switch, and the same goes for access points. It's central management, with the features that come with central management."
"Today I get a better deduplication level compared to the previous generations. That means the price per gigabyte or terabyte is lower for me."
"The ease of use, the reporting, and the setup are excellent."
"The uptime, the guarantee from HPE, and NVMe Storage are valuable."
"The unified management experience has been great. That's a huge advantage."
"The scalability is very good."

Cons

"We have cold storage here, and I think that's useful. When it comes to commercialization, it's cheaper to put data that you won't be using into the data storage. You only use a little bit of the data needed each day for your transition, so you pay less."
"Sometimes we have to concentrate networks to a certain location, like the EU, for example. Therefore, if we set S3 in the EU region from the Middle East or Africa, the latency is an issue and we find it hard to connect to that S3."
"The UI should be more user-friendly."
"When we need to find the queries there is no user interface, it is the only textual format that is bulky. If we need some data we will use Athena for queries and we will get results. When comparing this solution to others, such as DataDog, they provide a wonderful UI, and user-friendly dashboards, and many other features that this solution is lacking."
"It is difficult to retrieve files in an emergency because the public cloud has data limits for immediate downloads."
"We would like Amazon to reduce the price of storage."
"No direct connector is available to connect Amazon S3 with other tools like MicroStrategy."
"The down side is the web app should be aware of all the features that S3 provides in order to leverage its full potential."
"With support, occasionally, we have a little trouble escalating things."
"You need two different boxes for block and file storage."
"The marketplace should improve. There should be a more robust variety of vendors."
"The solution could improve the integration with sustainability-related services. A lot of clients ask us about that."
"The classifying of the data could be better."
"The debugging of devices could use improvement. Connection problems on devices as well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost varies based on the type of subscription you chose."
"Not many products in the market beat the solution in terms of quality or price."
"This solution has reasonable pricing and a low cost."
"The price of the Amazon S3 is reasonable. There are not any licensing costs, they have a pay-as-you-use model."
"The solution is fairly priced."
"The price of Amazon S3 is competitive with other solutions."
"I would rate the pricing a nine out of ten. Pricing depends on a particular class where you want save your objects. There are different classes when it comes to storage in S3."
"I use the tool's free tier. I believe that there is a need to make annual payments towards the licensing charges associated with the product."
"Its price seems okay for us. It is what we expect for this kind of storage."
