Sentiment score

Dell ECS support is praised for quick responses, though time zones and escalations can cause initial service delays.
Reaching out to them and talking is different from receiving a complete solution to your problem.
Amazon AWS has good technical engineers available, making their customer service reliable.
There is a lack of SUSE Linux experts which affects the level of support.
My thoughts on the technical support or customer service from Dell are generally positive
The response time and quality of the technical support are satisfactory.

Sentiment score
8.4

The scalability of Amazon AWS is excellent.
Amazon AWS provides strong scalability features, but the scaling process could be made more straightforward.
Through the fabrics, it provides the clustering, allowing us to add nodes easily.
It allows scale-out processes by adding extra nodes, providing flexibility for customers to increase capacity on demand.
I would rate scalability between eight or nine, as it provides a good ability to scale and expand storage.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
8.1
Amazon AWS is highly reliable with minimal issues, strong infrastructure, and stability often rated between eight and nine.
Sentiment score
8.0
Dell ECS is highly stable and reliable, with minimal issues and responsive support, scoring 7-9.5 in user ratings.
We have not experienced any outages in the last four years.
Dell ECS provides high stability compared to other object solutions.
It requires additional effort to get to the right person, but it's comparable to the service of others in the industry.

Room For Improvement

AWS users face challenges in cost, support, complexity, security, documentation, and features, with improvements needed in usability and integration.
Dell ECS requires better integration, support, scalability, user experience, security, and improved disaster recovery, while addressing compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
Amazon AWS could improve its user interface to make it more user-friendly, especially for people who are not highly technical.
When using scripts for APIs to fetch data, they don't match the data exactly with the request.
Live logs should be viewable through the GUI like with Logstash or Elasticsearch.
Incorporating extra integrations beyond S3, like Hadoop file systems, and being well aligned with trends like AI solutions would be beneficial.
Additionally, sometimes there is an issue with memory where it hangs, and they can improve garbage collection, which takes up a lot of space during cleanup.

Setup Cost

AWS offers scalable, flexible pricing suited for enterprises but requires careful management to avoid high costs from storage and data transfer.
Dell ECS pricing is viewed as both cost-effective with bundled benefits and expensive, needing more flexible models.
After three to four years, if you are not managing it correctly, you will be paying more than an on-premise solution, which applies to all cloud providers, so you must regularly maintain and manage for efficiency.
Currently, Amazon AWS is known to be on the higher price range because popular and in-demand services often come at a premium.
It relies on nearline SAS drives, which are cheaper than flash or SSDs.
The price is reasonable given the abundance of features, including managing, control, host resources, dockers, and containers.
The pricing model is on the higher side compared to other vendors.

Valuable Features

Amazon AWS offers scalable, secure, and flexible cloud services with automation, diverse tools, and excellent support for efficient resource management.
Dell ECS is praised for seamless integration, scalability, cost-effectiveness, data management, and excellent disaster recovery capabilities.
Amazon AWS offers flexibility and scalability.
I particularly appreciate the recommendation engines they have recently created on the services, such as Savings Plans recommendations and Reserved Instances recommendations, which are very helpful, along with the analyzers such as their IAM analyzer and Access Analyzer.
Dell ECS helps with managing storage requirements since it's S3 kind of object storage with all needed enterprise features such as immutability, snapshotting, and application management, which are nice sets of features usually required.
The stability of this solution is a major advantage, as we've not experienced any outages in the last four years.
Dell ECS is very easy to handle, primarily because the web UI dashboard and everything is very easy to manage for every customer.
