Alteryx Designer delivers high ROI and process automation, but pricing changes impact cost-effectiveness and prompt consideration of alternatives.
Sentiment score
6.8
Zapier is praised for automation and cost savings, offering significant value especially in early stages despite ROI challenges.
In a scenario where employing three resources for three months might cost approximately $18,000 to $20,000, Zapier provides substantial cost savings.

Customer Service

7.5
Customers appreciate the stable product, comprehensive documentation, and active community, despite occasional integration question delays and varying support ratings.
Sentiment score
7.6
Zapier's technical support is praised for efficiency and competence, though some users desire more immediate communication options.
There are areas where they need to improve response time and overall competence.
In my experience, the customer service and technical support of Zapier is very slow.
Sometimes, in my early days, when I was stuck with something, they helped me solve these issues, and even helped me solve some of my automations.
The experience was positive with prompt responses from their team.

Scalability Issues

Sentiment score
6.9
Alteryx Designer is scalable and cloud-ready but costly licensing limits broader scalability for large datasets and complex tasks.
Sentiment score
7.7
Zapier is ideal for small to mid-sized businesses, offering effective scalability and integration, but may not suit larger enterprises.
Scaling it gets quite expensive, and while I cannot evaluate it purely from a technology perspective, compared to Workato, I would give Zapier a seven for scalability.

Stability Issues

Sentiment score
7.9
Alteryx Designer is stable, scoring high for reliability with few issues, though external factors can occasionally affect performance.
Sentiment score
6.9
Users generally find Zapier reliable with occasional minor issues often linked to external factors, rating stability six to nine.
In my current company, we had significant challenges with Zapier regarding maintenance, as Zaps were often broken, not necessarily due to Zapier, but due to changes in the input variables.

Room For Improvement

Alteryx Designer's high cost and technical limitations restrict market access, needing better integration, support, and user-friendly features.
Zapier users desire enhanced features, better integrations, improved support, and more flexibility alongside competitive pricing and comprehensive documentation.
The error message options in the dashboard should be improved. It should be user-friendly so that beginners or non-technical users can figure out the problems and solutions on their own.
Comparing to OutSystems, which has better UI capabilities for creating screens and forms, Zapier has basic features for creating pages, screens, and forms, but additional development is needed in this area.
I would appreciate if there would be a feature where we can use actions right after loops. Currently, you cannot use any other action after the loop. Everything needs to be within the loop.

Setup Cost

Enterprise users find Alteryx Designer expensive, with high annual costs and additional charges compared to competitors like Tableau Prep.
Zapier offers flexible pricing, with costs rising for heavy use, yet many find it valuable for automation and time savings.
It's cheaper than Palantir, but even Alteryx is too much for small clients.
The pricing is in accordance with market standards and even lower in some cases.

Valuable Features

Alteryx Designer offers a user-friendly drag-and-drop interface, excelling in data preparation, transformation, automation, and integration with multiple sources.
Zapier facilitates seamless app integration and task automation with user-friendly tools, supporting platforms like Salesforce and Google Sheets.
The main valuable aspect is the simplicity of use across all features.
They have approximately 7,000 connections.
By specifying conditional logic rather than transforming and performing conditions within the visualization tool, Zapier provides conditional logic on the behavioral side to get specific data and load it into Power BI visualization tool.
It made my life easier, and it helped me a lot. There was a lot of work that I have automated, and it helps me save a lot of time, which I can use to do other activities.

Able to hold a huge amount of data in its memory, but it is very expensive
We had challenges with a very complex workflow, and we couldn't find the root cause because it caused an error in the output. We recreated the workflow, and it solved the problem. Alteryx Designer integrated seamlessly with other tools and systems in our workflow. It's not convenient for us to develop any machine learning model using Alteryx Designer. Other data science studio tools are much more advanced than the data science studio tools in Alteryx. We do maintenance on our workflow, but we try to be careful with the upgrades because we don't want any upgrades to impact our production workflows. One or two people are needed to maintain the solution. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Though the tool offers a visually appealing UI, it needs to improve its documentation
With Zapier, improvements are required in the areas of concerns like bugs, ease of use, and documentation. The product has many bugs, so users have to wait for a period ranging from five minutes to an hour to see where the Zap went. In Zapier, Zaps aren't very understandable owing to the way they work. As a user, you would think that in Zapier, a Zap works in a particular way once you set it up, but it won't happen. At times, some Zaps can interfere with each other, because of which there might be infinite loops that may occur, owing to which multiple Zaps continue to run or break down in general, after which nothing would run in your environment. You would not be notified about the breakdown of Zaps. The bugs in the product may be considered to understand or get an explanation of how Zaps works between software systems, so for something between Gmail and HubSpot, Zapier would explain through better documentation what would work and what wouldn't work. Maybe if Zapier had better functionality with Python or any other coding language in general, it would make the product a lot better.
