We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"When you open a raw Excel file, it can be hard to look at everything in detail. Alteryx makes it much easier to go through the data, summarize it, and use different tools for analysis.""Alteryx Designer's best features are that it's easy to use and performs well.""The product is intuitive and easy to use.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""It has an easy setup process.""The solution is user-friendly.""It helps them to create customized workflows, transform data, perform calculations, and consolidate multiple data sources into a target database.""It has great UI."

"It is easier to use than other technical open-source technologies.""It's easy to understand, makes flows and is efficient.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""Workato is low code, intuitive, and easy to use.""Their automation and workflows are very strong, and you can build the workflows very easily and quickly.""It is very easy to use. It takes complex workloads away, and it provides very smooth integration. It has got a lot of out-of-the-box connectors. It has got a lot of out-of-the-box APIs, which makes it really easy to integrate with applications for different use cases, whether it is in finance, HR, or customer operations. It is by far our favorite integration product.""The most valuable features are easy integration, quick tab to develop, quick tab to market, and interactive integration platform."

Cons
"Alteryx needs to improve its web governance. The gallery you use to filter the data is something else that could use some work. For instance, if you have a report connected to a database and want to filter a specific user, you should be able to suggest a specific region or a particular year. I know that the Alteryx isn't designed for data governance, but that would be great to think about.""Alteryx Designer's pricing and support could be improved.""I would like to be able to include small snippets of code inside of the solution. The tool has only drag-and-drop features to make it easy to use, but sometimes I feel like this makes it more complicated.""The only thing is sometimes it can be a bit slow.""Optimizing processing times is one area I would like to see improved in Alteryx Designer. Sometimes, the workflows take an extremely long time to run. There are days when I have had to wait two to three hours for a single process to complete. There needs to be a functionality to split the processes.""Alteryx's data science and machine learning capabilities are where it loses out to DataIQ.""Alteryx Designer's cost should be improved.""When it comes to the pivoting part, the drill-through option is not there in Alteryx."

More Alteryx Designer Cons →

"It is tedious to make a tailor-fit function.""Workato's Extract, transform, and load (ETL) and extract, load, and transform (ELT) are not very strong and could be improved for very complex transformations.""A limitation is that their cloud presence is only in North America and Europe.""The management dashboard in the solution is an area with shortcomings that needs improvement.""The only minor drawback would be if there was a UI at the front of it, for apps and for a portal as well, it would make it really easy. It would be really useful if there were more apps capabilities.""From the deployment point of view, our customers encounter platform downtime where it does not serve the actual request on the systems.""I would like to see the dashboarding and reporting processes improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."

  • "On a scale of one to ten, the pricing is around a six. We have a consumption model and the pricing is higher. If you are using any kind of ML-based approach, machine learning, or some advanced analytics, you may have to pay more."
  • "Speaking about price, I would say that it's market-related. Also, there are costs in addition to the standard license fees since different add-ons depend on what you require."
  • "Workato is an expensive solution."
