Encounter challenges in troubleshooting but experience efficient customer support
The application itself is a bit bloated. Although it has a lot of features when it comes to troubleshooting, we don't basically know where to start even though we do give them the log files to troubleshoot they don't give us a proper solution set. So I would say because it's bloated, it's a bit more difficult to troubleshoot where you get certain errors. From my side, on the POC I didn't really need to do much. It's only after we discovered there was a compatibility issue with the application that the client was running that we actually had to do a lot of log file shipping to Acronis themselves and getting solutions because of other problems. So on a day-to-day basis, you don't even maintain it, you just forget about it. You get alerts, but usually in between. It's quite easy to manage. To be honest with you, since I didn't really test that option of Acronis Cyber Protect, it's supposed to make everything feasible and easy to manage but I never got the option of testing it out, so I cannot really say at this stage.

Reliable with good storage capabilities but sometimes shows a misleading status
The solution is straightforward to set up. It is easy; it's not complicated at all. I'd rate the ease of setup five out of ten. It's in the middle in terms of the level of difficulty. However, I find it quite simple. It takes the usual amount of time to set up due to all the modules. When we install a product on SolarWinds or the RMM platform, they take a similar amount of time. There is no specific time for a single module. If you deploy a single module will take almost the same time. If you deploy ten models together, they will have similar timing since they all are on the same RMM platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"In terms of system-critical support, Acronis' technical support does really well. I would give them an eight out of ten for that."
"Their response is quite efficient."
"Our customers can backup to local storage and they can back up or replicate to the cloud."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"It's always stable. It's very good, useful, and user-friendly."
"All the necessary features required to set up a proper backup are already present in Acronis Backup."
"The setup is very easy."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to back up and recover our production environment from ransomware."
"The initial setup is very straightforward."

Cons

"I can't select a network location. I have to map a drive on the server, and then I have to select the mapped drive in order for it to put the backup out there."
"It would be nice to have it on the cloud platform without using third-party equipment."
"The solution could be better if some of the features were more in-depth."
"In some cases, at the time of reinstallation, some disasters happen. For the licensing on the computer the name of the computer and domain, everything is removed from the registry level. Then we have to install the Acronis from the start for it to work properly. Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation. That's where they need to improve the product. In the case people want to install the same software with the same hardware, it should not stop me."
"Acronis Backup isn't scalable at all."
"The solution's error handling can be improved specifically for Linux errors."
"The support takes too much time to respond to callbacks."
"No technical support and minimal documentation."
"The solution could always be more easily scalable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We were on a perpetual license for Acronis Backup."
"When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
"I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
"Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"Our licenses come with a one-time yearly subscription fee."
"The price of the solution is expensive and could be reduced a little."
"Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
"The pricing is significantly higher than it was last year, which is understandable since they have introduced new technology, such as transitioning from backup to cybersecurity."
