Optimizes business processes, is user-friendly and flexible
The software is user-friendly, flexible, and can be used with various data sources. It provides various reports and charts that help organizations to identify areas for improvement and optimize their processes. ABBYY Timeline is a great choice for business process analysts, process owners, and IT professionals who are looking for a tool to help them analyze and optimize their processes. The process flow/diagram is the most valuable feature, as it offers a helpful visual simulation that allows users to see what's happening in the grand scheme of things and then drill down into specific tasks and processes to see where the bottlenecks are. For those companies that look for the low-hanging fruit in terms of process automation and operational excellence, this is the tool you need to succeed.

Automating processes has saved time and improved communication
Something frustrates me concerning Microsoft Power Automate, and that is about the integration with Microsoft Forms and Excel. The issue now is that I don't get my responses synchronized automatically, and that frustrates me a lot. If the team could take this as feedback, the synchronization of the feedback responses from the forms and the Excel sheets should be seamless. This synchronization issue happens frequently, and it causes a lot of delays in the sense that the mails that ought to go out to the agents fail at some point. I have to reload these responses so that the agents can get their responses as when submitted. What I notice is that the responses don't go out without proper synchronization, so I reload the field responses, and this works afterwards. I would say probably a seamless walkthrough process for new users would be beneficial. For those using it for the first time, a seamless walkthrough process would be fine.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"ABBYY Timeline provides various reports and charts that help us identify areas for improvement and optimize our business processes."
"The interface is user-friendly."
"We have saved thousands of hours by automating tasks that would have been labor-intensive and error-prone if done manually."
"The best feature is that it doesn't require any other connectivity."
"Triggering and scheduling were pretty good. There was no real commitment with WinAutomation because the licensing was very fair and you could trigger bots very easily."
"The initial setup is very simple."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power Automate in the desktop version is web scraping because you can do a lot with it. I work in retail and you can study prices changes, which can give you a lot of information. The solution is no code which is a large advantage."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power Automate is the many functionalities, and ease of use. We had summer interns from college in their second year of engineering and they were able to start the building process quickly within a day."
"The initial setup is pretty easy."

Cons

"There are a couple of new features available in Timeline that still need more time to mature."
"Its licensing model should be improved. The pricing should be more visible and transparent. When you consume services, there are too many criteria to figure out how much it is going to cost you to use the product to its full extent. It should also support visual process editing, which is a standard feature for BPMN 2.0 compliance. They should improve the visual designer."
"There are frequent version updates and that impacts different algorithms so we have to adjust our code."
"The solution is difficult to customize. I would like to see more flexibility when it comes to using different kinds of activities."
"When it comes to cloud computing, there are many limitations when dealing with large amounts of data."
"It should work better for Angular websites, as it has a lot of problems."
"It would be good to have some kind of on-premises solution for BPMN users, but I don't think Microsoft will ever go back to the on-premises solution. They all train their clients to use their online services. It is easy, but it doesn't follow the industry-wide standards. I can only use the processes that Microsoft gives us. I can't map a business process by using other standards or notations, such as Business Process Management (BPM). I have to use whatever Microsoft gives us. I would like to have support for some standards because if we decide to use another BPM tomorrow, we will have to remap everything in notation to transfer from this solution. This is the only block or obstacle that I see in using this solution. It is closed in its infrastructure."
"It is challenging to scale the solution across multiple branches."
"WinAutomation is scalable to a certain extent. I would rate it seven for the scalability, which could be better. Softomotive is better scalable than WinAutomation in this regard."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Power Automate is part of our Office 365 package, there are no additional licensing costs."
"With our Microsoft Office 365 license, we are able to use Microsoft Power Automate."
"This is a cost-effective RPA solution."
"The free version is quite good."
"It's more fragmented licensing, where every little thing that you add, you get an extra license cost."
"The platform is averagely priced. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"This is the cheapest option among competitors. You can choose to have the RPA with attendance at $40/month with add-on's totaling about $190. There are standalone options that require someone to run the process and there are fully automated options that are integrated within the cloud."
"I don't deal with the financial side. I know that we pay for a per-user license. It is probably less than $20 a user, but I am not sure about the exact figures."
