Combines network, storage, and compute functions in one place
Pros and Cons
  • "The best thing about the solution is that it combines network, storage, and compute functions in one place. Unlike the traditional three-tier setup, you don't need to buy separate devices for each part. This makes it much easier to control and manage everything in one go without switching between different places for different tasks."
  • "I want the product to be used more efficiently and for our system to connect easily with cloud services like AWS, Oracle, and IBM. We can also improve by adding advanced features like snapshots, replication, and encryption, allowing for more growth. Introducing features such as data duplication, data analytics, and AI-driven insights will improve its deployments."

What is most valuable?

The best thing about the solution is that it combines network, storage, and compute functions in one place. Unlike the traditional three-tier setup, you don't need to buy separate devices for each part. This makes it much easier to control and manage everything in one go without switching between different places for different tasks.

What needs improvement?

I want the product to be used more efficiently and for our system to connect easily with cloud services like AWS, Oracle, and IBM. We can also improve by adding advanced features like snapshots, replication, and encryption, allowing for more growth. Introducing features such as data duplication, data analytics, and AI-driven insights will improve its deployments.

I've noticed a slight impact on performance, especially with high-end computing virtual machines for SAP HANA. While I don't have concrete data to support this observation, customers have raised concerns about discrepancies in performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Compared to the traditional three-tier architecture, the solution offers more flexibility. I can handle various tasks in one place, simplifying the complexity of managing hardware separately.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure can be scaled as per the requirement. We can easily add extra hardware components if we have more applications or the company is growing. This flexibility makes our system more efficient by utilizing computing and storage resources.

How are customer service and support?

Different companies have support systems, and I haven't encountered any significant challenges with support from vendors like HP or Hitachi.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment can be completed in a couple of hours.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure's pricing a six out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure a ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

  • "The most valuable feature of Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is the relocating of resources."
  • "Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure could improve the security of the solution. However, we are comfortable using it. Additionally, there could be more information provided for the solution and the interface could be more user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure for storing our data. We have it deployed in a data center.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is the relocating of resources.

What needs improvement?

Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure could improve the security of the solution. However, we are comfortable using it. Additionally, there could be more information provided for the solution and the interface could be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure for approximately eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is a stable solution. It is close to 90 percent stable, it is not perfect.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have approximately 20 organizations using Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure, it is scalable. We have plans to increase our usage, we are upgrading.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support from Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure could be better. They do not have the internal capacity to scale the support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was previously using Dell EMC. We switched to Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure because they were less expensive.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is typically done by engineers and the support from Huawei engineers.

What about the implementation team?

We used the support from Huawei engineers for the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure is very good. There is a perpetual license for the solution, there are not any additional costs for the hardware. We have a license in case there is any new functionality that is required.

What other advice do I have?

There is not much internal capacity, this is the challenge we have at the moment.

I rate Huawei FusionCube Hyper-Converged Infrastructure a seven out of ten.
