Qualys Setup

I am currently leading an enterprise project to transition from Ivanti Patch Management to Qualys for vulnerability management and patching.

The project involves evaluating the existing Ivanti patching process, designing the Qualys-based remediation approach, validating the required infrastructure and agent coverage, and establishing a structured vulnerability remediation and patching workflow.

I am leading the technical implementation together with two colleagues, with a focus on:

• Qualys deployment and agent coverage
• Vulnerability identification and prioritization
• Patch assessment and remediation
• Mapping vulnerabilities to applicable patches
• Remediation tracking and validation
• Exception and patch-deferral management
• Reporting and remediation KPIs
• Troubleshooting assets that are not reporting or patching successfully
• Improving the overall visibility and control of vulnerability remediation

I would do more testing before the migration and start with a small group of servers first. This would help identify issues early and make the migration from Ivanti to Qualys smoother.
