In production environment I don't have any doubt, ESXi, the workstation works on top of Microsoft Windows.

For virtual infrastructure Veeam is a good choice.

Snapshot and backup is totally different things, yes VMWare have backup module but it is not reliable at all.

But they have a solution with in, but not efficient enough, it is bad, why don't they remove it from their product and let others take care of it, when you are doing something do it perfectly otherwise don't do.

I do agree, you need minimum of 25 to 30 % extra storage.

Contributed a review of Veeam Backup & Replication: It's easy to restore from a backup and, as it's an OS-aware solution, I can also recover deleted objects to Active Directory.
