I agree with Bobin about SPARC is much better than x86
I am running 42 dev databases on my x86 server and I don't find that working excellent although I have 256GB memory and 48 cores on the box.

I would recommend go with Enterprise manager as it will give you a more graphical view about performance
Foglight is typical for sql queries whereas EM will give you OS performance too.
