Customer was using dozens of individual physical servers without shared storage, a lot of resources was being wasted, we did run an assessment tool to assess how much resources are actually being used, we generated a report from the assessment tool showing average and peak usage of CPU, memory and storage, we did sizing of a new infrastructure according to the results, we proposed DELL SC Series storage along with DELL Poweredge servers with VMWare Virtualisation infrastructure, surprisingly by doing consolidation the dozens of servers were replaced by only 6xServers and the solution still running on around 60% usage and it also has the capability to expand further.
We will try to do it on Hyper Converged Infrastructure rather than traditional SAN solution design
