Hello peers,
I am a General Manager at a large healthcare company.
I am researching EAM tools. There are several tools in the market but there aren't any really good ones for importing data.
Which EAM tool are you using? What are the pros and cons of that tool?
Thank you.

If data import is one of your main concerns, I would evaluate EAM platforms beyond their core maintenance functionality. In my experience, data migration, integration, data quality, mobile/offline capability, and AI readiness are equally important.
At Unvired, we work with organizations on EAM implementations, and some common challenges we see are asset data spread across Excel, CSV files, legacy CMMS/EAM systems and databases, inconsistent asset hierarchies, duplicate records, and manual data entry from the field.
The EAM solution should ideally cover the complete maintenance lifecycle, including asset and equipment management, functional locations, work orders, maintenance activities, inspections, measurements, inventory, operator rounds and field execution.
I would also pay close attention to mobile and offline functionality. Maintenance teams may work in locations where connectivity is unreliable. Being able to access asset and work-order information, perform inspections, capture readings and complete work offline, then synchronize when connectivity is restored, can make a significant operational difference.
AI is another area I would include in the evaluation today. However, I would not choose an EAM simply because it has an AI feature. The more important question is whether the platform provides clean, accessible and connected asset/maintenance data that can support use cases such as maintenance knowledge assistance, troubleshooting, work-order analysis, recommendations and predictive maintenance.
For data migration specifically, I would ask every vendor to demonstrate the process using your actual asset data, rather than a clean sample spreadsheet. Test equipment, locations, hierarchies, maintenance history and work orders, and look at how much manual mapping and cleansing is required.
We offer Unvired as one approach, particularly for organizations looking for complete EAM with SAP integration, mobile/offline execution and AI capabilities. I’d recommend comparing it with other platforms against the same real-world criteria and using your own data for the proof of concept.
If you’re interested, feel free to share what systems you currently use and where the data-import challenge is occurring. I’d be happy to share how we approach this at Unvired and what we would typically evaluate during an EAM assessment.

Hi Nicolas,We have seen good results with Attune EAM from Octave, particularly in regulated manufacturing environments where asset reliability, compliance, and maintenance traceability are critical. One of the advantages of Attune EAM ( Octave) is its ability to manage the complete maintenance lifecycle, including preventive maintenance, work orders, spare parts management, calibration records, and asset history. The platform also supports data import through standard templates and integration interfaces, which can simplify migration from legacy systems.Pros:1.User-friendly interface2.Strong maintenance planning and asset tracking3.Good support for compliance and audit requirements4.Flexible integration capabilities5.Suitable for highly regulated industriesCons:1.Data quality still remains a key factor during migration2.Advanced workflows may require configuration effort3.Reporting customization may need additional implementation support4.We have also seen Octave EAM being adopted in pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing environments, where equipment uptime, calibration management, validation processes, and regulatory compliance are important requirements.
Are you primarily looking for EAM to manage facilities, production equipment, laboratory assets, or a combination of these?Best regards,
