I would not say there is a need for improvement, as Visual Studio Code is already very good, although I would appreciate seeing more features introduced by its community. While the UI is already quite good and the compatibility and extension features are effective, I wish for even more enhancements from the Visual Studio Code community.
Visual Studio Code could improve extension support. Although there are many extensions to connect to different tools, they could definitely add more extensions or improve the existing ones. They could put a support layer in between if anyone faces issues while integrating with other tools through extensions, allowing users to reach out to support fairly quickly. In general, I think all Microsoft products need a better support system. Reaching out to them for support is rare, but when I do, it is usually very vague. I do not know where to go exactly or how to navigate through their support chain of command. There should be a straightforward way to reach out to them, or perhaps a community forum organized by Microsoft where people can go and ask questions and receive support.
