In the next release, I'd like to see an automated version of HVR with a script that can be run on a management server where we can provide all the information within the script, or the script can prompt the user to enter the storage area and volume details so that with just a few clicks, the solution will be deployed automatically in the background.

It should have a few more monitoring functionalities. It should also support integration with more data sources. Currently, it supports Snowflake, AWS, and Google Cloud, but it can also support SAP integration. They can make it more flexible.

The documentation can be laid out better to make it easier to find things, and I really wish there was built-in support for changing passwords. Some features don't work as advertised for the platform/repository database, and HVR is not always the fastest at getting results.

The interface needs to be more user-friendly. Data security should be improved in the next release.

We have a number of connections to heterogeneous databases and that could be expanded on. One of the databases is an additional database that should be coming online but there is some difficulty with it. Other than this, in comparison to other products it's competing with, including Oracle, it beats them hands down for everything, including the price. I would like for them to incorporate additional transformations. A valuable aspect of the product is that it does inflight transformations and that could be expanded.

Is HVR suitableĀ for heavy traffic?

As someone who works at a company where a high volume of information is replicated and has tried several data replication softwares, I can tell you that you're looking at the right one. HVR Software is just perfect for high-volume data movement because of the low impact it leaves, as well as the API-automated workflow. Of course, it depends on your company's situation and how much data you plan to replicate. But we've been using HRV Software for a while and when we started we were working with a considerably smaller amount of data. As the load grew, HVR managed to keep up, which is super impressive.

The organization I worked at that used HVR Software didn't reach a particularly high volume of data while I was employed there. That's why I can't help you with what are the data limits of it when it comes to its capacity. But I can tell you that while working with it, the whole team was very satisfied. HVR Software allows data replication over many platforms, as it supports over 1,000 transfer types, which means it gives you freedom in this sense. I think my favorite feature wasn't the volume it supports though, but the change data capture it did. In real-time CDC was done with minimal impact, making our work so much easier. It's definitely a data replication software to consider.

Can HVR be trusted to provide reliable data statistics?

I honestly can't think of another data replication software that can give you better statistics and insight than HVR Software. There's the feature for topology and statistics and both of them can give you a detailed insight into your data replication. Through the thorough statistics that HVR Software gives, you can learn the performance metrics on your replicated data and on the data flows between sources. And to make things even better, you can see it illustrated through topology, making it even easier to monitor it. I think this is crucial for every organization that deals with frequent data replication to be able to keep track of how its systems are performing.

I feel like this is one of the softwares that you just put to use and you sit back and look at the reports and statistics, it does everything else for you. Yes, it provides statistics as well as a visual representation of your data replication metrics and that's very useful. For one, it's crucial for issue detection and the timely implementation of solutions for it. And then, it's always important to follow your data stats and be able to improve where there are weaker spots and assure you're using efficient copies. You may know that it's not only that data replication serves as a backup but also as a real-time copy to be accessed. When you've got statistics on how your copies are doing, you'll be much more secure and safer.
