The pricing of Dell PowerProtect DP (IDPA) is competitive compared to its peers in the market, and while it can always come down, I still think it's a fair price.
Pricing is competitive with other software vendors. The product's features, network, and VMware integration contribute to its value. There are different licensing options available, such as appliances, protection suite, and SaaS-based backup services.
As a distributor and reseller, getting the best price is important. We are currently enjoying good discounts as a platinum partner, but I would like to see if we can get an even better deal. This would help us stay competitive and meet market demands more effectively. For Dell PowerProtect IDPA, we typically sell at least a three-year license, with no option for one or two years. After this period, support needs to be renewed. The license is mostly lifetime, covering both hardware and software, with the option to upgrade support. It is advisable to consider a five or seven years warranty, as it is cost-effective and beneficial for customers.
The pricing of the product is pretty reasonable. I'd rate the pricing at a three out of five in terms of affordability. Licensing is paid on a yearly basis.

We have a perpetual license. It is a capacity-based license.
I would rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten.

We pay for a yearly license, and it's affordable.
We're on our second year of a three-year license. When our third year is up, we're going to choose another solution.
