A non-developer here, and frankly, a little bit of a tech beginner in general. My company branched out into digital experience a bit later than we should have but picking Liferay as a DXP was one of the best steps on our journey. Its interface is super user-friendly, meaning for newbies like you and me, it can be perfect! Of course, as you learn, you'll be able to take advantage of its features a lot more than in the very beginning. But in my opinion, yes, you can absolutely pick it as a digital experience platform to start out and it won't be too hard to work it at all.

I haven't used Liferay personally, but since you have to start from somewhere, I think it's a good one. I've looked into it before when I was choosing a digital experience platform and it looks good to me, not overly complicated and with a big variety of features, so you can definitely consider it. It wasn't up to me to decide the DXP our brand will use, I only did the platforms research, but Liferay is definitely a good one to consider because from what I've heard, it's also secure. That means as a beginner you won't have to worry at least about the security of your digital experience platform as much.
