I definitely recommend Dynatrace because I think it is a fantastic digital performance monitoring tool. It is obvious why it is considered to be the APM market leader. It has helped my organization optimize customer experiences, modernize operations, and accelerate innovation across cloud and on-premises environments. It has also alleviated many of our digital-performance challenges and, in turn, has helped us grow our business.
From my experience, I have found that Dynatrace works right out of the box. The solution has given us deep insights into our hosts, Docker containers, and the services that they provide. I also found that Dynatrace was easy and straightforward to deploy and its auto-detection capabilities that reduce installation effort to near zero really made a difference.
Another reason why I like Dynatrace is because it works proactively, not just reactively. It has allowed us to identify and get in front of performance issues more quickly and efficiently. With Dynatrace, we can be more agile and proactive, and address issues before they ever reach our customers, which is really important for our organization.
Not only does Dynatrace pinpoint the root causes of problems, but it does it fast. As you may already know, when there is an issue, it can take a long time to fix - sometimes even days. But with Dynatrace, we are able to identify issues immediately, which saves us a lot of time and resources. It has effectively eliminated the time we would typically waste going through logs so that we could remediate issues. The AI that comes with the device is also highly intelligent and useful in narrowing down potential root causes of issues. The solution contains tools and features that are simple to use and set up in order to acquire the greatest performance and query analytics or tracking from this platform.
Furthermore, with Dynatrace you have complete visibility. Using what Dynatrace refers to as ‘SmartScape,’ we are able to get a full picture of our production environment and an excellent overview of system components. The solution makes it easy for us to evaluate the health of our systems so we know where we need to optimize.
Another huge advantage about Dynatrace is that it is an all-in-one monitoring tool. Prior to using Dynatrace, we had to use separate tools for web monitoring, application performance management, and server monitoring. Now we don’t have to, because Dynatrace does all of that. As an all-in-one solution, Dynatrace also provides better full-stack monitoring and proactive alarms. And because it does such a great job of providing a thorough overview of issues, fewer DevOps engineers are needed to fix the issues, since it does the job of finding the root cause of the issues for you.
The whole solution is very easy to use and it has a simple user interface.
It's not always so easy to find a company with outstanding customer service and technical support, but Dynatrace has been fantastic. Not only do they have quick turnaround times, but they are really responsive and knowledgeable.
All in all, Dynatrace is a highly comprehensive and valuable tool, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
Hi community,
I work at a Healthcare company with 5K+ employees.
Currently, I'm looking for an APM solution.
We already have Solarwinds for network monitoring but I have read and heard from colleagues that Dynatrace is an outstanding product (the head of our development team swears by it).
The Network Operations team already has experience with Solarwinds (good and bad) and I am concerned...

Dynatrace is the leader in the APM market with reason, it is well worth giving it a decent evaluation for full end-to-end monitoring of infrastructure and code.
Our organization ran comparison tests to determine whether the Datadog or Dynatrace network monitoring software was the better fit for us. We decided to go with Dynatrace. Dynatrace offers network monitoring capabilities that take into account their users’ need for the most in-depth and accurate information and solutions. It offers analysis powered by a cutting-edge and fully automated AI. This artificial intelligence is designed to spot in real time any issue that might appear in the network on both the code and the infrastructure levels. Network administrators will be offered an in-depth analysis of the issue. The report will show the nature of the problem, where in the network it can be located, and potential solutions that can be implemented. Dynatrace’s real-time reporting significantly cuts down the response time of administrators to issues.
Datadog’s network monitoring software does not offer AI reporting or analysis. While it does offer features that enable users to track issues in their networks, it does not offer anything that is as robust and in-depth as Dynatrace’s fully automated AI. Administrators have to go and constantly monitor the network for issues instead of receiving automatic notifications that can direct them to the problems at hand.
Dynatrace’s dashboards can take the data that the AI collects and lay it out for the administrative or executive teams in clear ways. It is easy to customize these dashboards according to what you need. In fact, the creation of dashboards is now automated. You tell the software what you want to see and it will build the dashboard for you.
Datadog offers dashboards that provide near real-time visibility. They track the health of the network applications and provide indicators of the network’s overall condition. These dashboards are somewhat easy to create. However, they lack the automation that Dynatrace provides.
Conclusion
While Datadog offers a solution that can provide effective network monitoring, Dynatrace’s features make it a better option. Its AI and automation make it a far more effective product.

We also selected Dynatrace but for different reasons.
We were looking for a solution that integrated user experience to backend systems. The RUM data captured by Dynatrace and integration to the transaction trace is phenomenal.
Datadog was lacking in the APM space when we evaluated and was very limited specifically in real user monitoring.
I've seen an early preview of Dyantrace's latest logging capabilities and can say I'm very excited, to say the least. The solution is automated and traced. For a comprehensive solution to improve observability and reduce outage times we are very happy with Dynatrace.
