What is our primary use case?
My typical use case with Mule Anypoint Platform is mainly integrating their SAP system, which involves both their on-premise and cloud systems.
What is most valuable?
The features of Mule Anypoint Platform that I have found most valuable include the integration website for connecting, the group feature, and mainly using their runtime version where these old integrations are installed, alongside the ability to build divisions with Mule Anypoint Platform.
The API management capability of Mule Anypoint Platform has improved my customer's workflows by providing an automated system for processes they were previously doing manually, resulting in an improvement in their performance.
What needs improvement?
The areas of Mule Anypoint Platform with room for improvement mainly lie in their developer studio, which is still based on an older version that utilizes a Java-based approach, whereas newer development should leverage a web IDE.
In the next release of Mule Anypoint Platform, I would like to see additional features that improve connectors, particularly the ability to connect with different queues, such as AWS queues, to provide more flexibility.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Mule Anypoint Platform for one and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of this solution somewhere between eight to nine.
Regarding the stability of Mule Anypoint Platform, I find it quite stable as long as it is configured correctly to ensure data delivery.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability of Mule Anypoint Platform as a six because they do not provide autoscalable solutions yet; the version we are using does not automatically adjust capacity based on the load.
How are customer service and support?
My experience with technical support from Mule Anypoint Platform involves submitting a ticket to their support system, and they respond based on their SLAs, which vary depending on the subscription level.
I would rate technical support from Mule Anypoint Platform as eight or nine.
How was the initial setup?
On a scale of one to ten, I would rate my experience with the initial setup of Mule Anypoint Platform as an eight.
I have faced complexities in the sense that while everything is straightforward, on the server side, the cloud operations are very easy since they are available out of the box; we just have to configure it for our Mule.
Deploying this solution technically does not take much time, but getting the real requirements, building it, testing it, and then rebuilding take time. The project setup is more involved, but it is more on the requirement side from the client.
It takes about two to three months to make everything up and running, provided the requirements are clear.
What other advice do I have?
I am a customer of this solution, and I am also an integrator.
At the moment, I am working with one client who is using Mule Anypoint Platform, but I have previously worked with two different clients. Those clients have been enterprise businesses.
I would rate the pricing of Mule Anypoint Platform as an eight, indicating it is more expensive. Customers usually pay more than thirty thousand per month for this solution, but I do not have the exact figures for every specific aspect of the pricing.
Overall, I would rate Mule Anypoint Platform between seven to eight in terms of its overall value, factoring in cost and functionality. I gave this review an overall rating of eight.
My advice for others looking into using Mule Anypoint Platform is to carefully consider the use cases and whether the cost is justified, given that it is an expensive solution.
I believe Mule Anypoint Platform is well-suited to address integration trends, whether cloud to cloud, on-premise to cloud, or on-premise to on-premise, as they have capabilities across various integration scenarios.
