Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automation has reduced manual finance work and has increased accuracy for high volume tasks
I am not sure if there is any disadvantage to UiPath Automation Cloud; I cannot say anything definitive. Sometimes when we upgrade our Studio version, there would be some issues when we use a new version, but I would not say there is a significant negative aspect. The latest issues with the new version involve glitches or latency that happen when we upgrade, and we face some issues that take time to fix. We have to open a new ticket and proceed through that process. As I heard, UiPath Automation Cloud is a little more expensive than other tools. I just heard this from other developer friends, but I have never used any other tools myself.

Automation has transformed document processing and frees teams to focus on higher‑value analysis
Sometimes, we encounter system errors that could be resolved via support, but connection issues are more frequent in enterprise applications. However, these can usually be solved by raising tickets if you are part of an enterprise, though we are not, which makes it somewhat challenging. It is vital to ensure the connections of UiPath Platform are maintained because it has a larger community. If UiPath Platform website included more features and documentation accessible easily, it would greatly enhance the experience. Instead of continually needing to raise support tickets, having a documentation hub where details can just be entered to retrieve required documents would be extremely beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"AA provides multiple features such as Windows actions, Database actions, Conditional Actions, Files/Folder Actions, Loop actions, Internet actions, and Clipboard actions. I have used mostly all of these features."
"RPA is a feature that really helped eliminate errors during the execution of structured business processes."
"The core functionality, the ability to automate these tasks and to interact, both with our own in-house software solutions as well as with our customers' and vendors' solutions and portals, has been incredibly valuable for us."
"It saves time."
"The scope of automation by using Automation Anywhere has become wonderful."
"An easy to deploy and learn automation tool that can save resources, effort and money."
"Its user interface is very understandable. Even a non-technical person can understand it. Everything in the user interface is self-explanatory. It is quite good."
"The ROI on major bots has been phenomenal."
"In general, the cloud migration has helped greatly, and overall UiPath Automation Cloud is a really good tool for enterprise-level automation."
"When you use human resources, there is some chance people can make mistakes, but UiPath Automation Cloud robots cannot, as they are very fast and do their job correctly and efficiently."
"Functionality wise, I do not have any complaint about UiPath Automation Cloud because for the last seven years, UiPath has been my bread and butter."
"Building automation using the solution is easy."
"UiPath Platform has solved many repetitive tasks and has enabled people to focus on improving their skills or advancing the business in other ways."
"But overall, the platform is very innovative."
"UiPath Studio has reduced the costs of our automation operations, minimized our on-premise footprint by letting robots do work that previously required three or four people, and made employees happier because they can now focus on higher-value tasks that require human intervention instead of repetitive work."
"Our overall efficiency has improved, and with the introduction of UiPath, we were able to reduce the time by half and also reduce resources with these automations."
"The UiPath Community is truly helpful."
"From a developer standpoint, the features of UiPath Platform that I appreciate the most include the ease of building."
"Within UiPath Cloud itself, UiPath Insights has been excellent. Insights is one of the newer features we were excited about because we built custom reports, captured all that data in one place, and leveraged it in different areas. That was a challenge for us and created a support burden. We're automation developers, not report developers. When leadership wanted a new metric or anything, figuring it out was always a pain."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere could improve by incorporating better integration with DevOps."
"We have still not explored Automation Anywhere to its full potential, so I will restrict myself from commenting on improvement areas at this time."
"In the age of AARI and Automation Anywhere 2019 IQ Bot, the biggest challenges for me and my company are understanding the product and implementing it at the right place."
"We do not have the AI Agent Studio feature of Automation Anywhere available yet in our government GCC environment."
"Getting the bot design into the developer's hands is taking longer than we initially anticipated."
"It is very difficult to create and automate timetables because they are modal, and it would be helpful if the bot could assist us with this."
"I would like to see more complex use cases coming out for our industry."
"The human training area is still something that needs to be improved. It's not so much the actual technology learning, but rather how you bring this to life with all the peripheral competencies that are needed for it."
"The main concerns are cost involvement and a new feature called ScreenPlay. ScreenPlay works based on the prompt that we are giving, but it consumes more artificial intelligence units."
"Sometimes when we upgrade our Studio version, there would be some issues when we use a new version, but I would not say there is a significant negative aspect."
"UiPath Automation Cloud needs to reduce the license cost. That is the first thing they need to concentrate on because many RPA tools are coming up in the market and some are much cheaper than UiPath Automation Cloud."
"I would like to see some integration, or ease of integration, with APIs, so we can automate stuff faster. E.g., we go through a co-op, which is a card processor, and they have a very powerful API."
"UiPath should expand its coding options and reduce its dependency on third-party resources. There should also be more flexible licenses for smaller businesses. It's hard for small companies to estimate the cost of adding users in their final budgets. UiPath could also improve error handling and capture a little more information about the execution of your processes."
"It's expensive."
"Computational text recognition has room for improvement as it is not 100 percent accurate."
"The cost can be a barrier."
"Its price is high compared to many other tools. When we go for any additional capability, everything comes at additional pricing. As a package, they can provide something that helps with scalability in terms of bot addition."
"Some of the licenses, such as for Document Understanding, are a little bit expensive, and we hope that they will reduce the prices over time. Apart from this, I don't have anything to improve."
"The product should be made more friendly to non-programming users, as some functions require a background in VB.NET."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is affordable and I would recommend beginning with the Starter Package."
"It is the most economically friendly and it provides you with a lot of functions."
"There are some additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees. There are a couple of add-ons we've looked at: The IQ Bot for OCR and machine-learning were add-ons, as well as the Bot Insights - the analytics."
"We're paying a monthly subscription fee for the bot and for services. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"Our annual licensing costs are about $500,000."
"We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
"They all are very competitive today. At the end of the day, it boils down to the negotiations that happen and what type of partner you are."
"We only deal in annual licenses. There are no pay-as-you-go licenses."
Information not available
"The price of UiPath is higher than competitors, although the cost depends on what functionality and tools you require"
"I would rate the pricing as seven out of 10, where 10 is the most expensive. The pricing increased with the latest release. It used to be cheap. Now, it is expensive. However, it does come with supported features, which almost justify its cost."
"This solution has a very competitive and flexible pricing scheme that depends on the process complexity."
"UiPath is expensive."
"I think the setup cost is quite nominal, but the licensing might be on a higher side when compared to Automation Anywhere."
"UiPath attended bots are quite cheap compared to Automation Anywhere. If you bring in UiPath's unattended bots, that's expensive."
"I think the pricing is reasonable. I don't think it's too much of a stretch, and I think it's where it should be."
"UiPath is expensive."
