Long-term integration has supported real-time data exchange and simplified adapter-based workflows
The challenges I have faced with TIBCO BusinessWorks mostly relate to financial applications that do not come with those adapters, so that requires custom coding. The features currently in TIBCO BusinessWorks are good enough, but going forward, as we are doing a lot of AI-based integrations, I would like to see TIBCO come up with more prompt-driven configurations rather than people having to understand deep technology. AI-driven features in TIBCO BusinessWorks would be beneficial, so that our business tech BA can do the development rather than needing programmers. More artificial intelligence functionality would help so people do not have to code.

A cloud solution that has a lot of connectors, but it should provide better documentation and scenario-based samples
Smaller customers who want to integrate with other systems don't need too much in-house expertise in terms of technology. They can hire consultants who can implement this solution for them, and they don't have to maintain any infrastructure. For a smaller setup, it is a go-to integration system wherein they don't need a lot of expertise or infrastructure. The solution's UI is pretty intuitive and easy. It is good for smaller integration use cases. I think it would be a problem for bigger use cases. Overall, I rate TIBCO Scribe a six out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is user friendly, it's not complex."
"One of the most valuable features is data transformation; we have some legacy systems which are in old technology, like SOAP, whereas the new ones are in REST, so we use BusinessWorks to transform data from one format to another, from SOAP to REST."
"TIBCO 6 is richer in terms of integration technology and has more modern architecture."
"It is very valuable for my work, helping me communicate with other branches, parse data, and change data formats to respond to the front channels with the correct format."
"Areas for improvement would be the cloud fitness of the product and the ease of migrating to newer versions."
"It is a seamless and sophisticated tool, we can operate everything and scale up and down the instances, and it is also very user-friendly with a good overall experience."
"BusinessWorks reduces development time, helping developers to focus on business logic."
"The initial setup of TIBCO BusinessWorks was straightforward since we have used the solution in our organization for a long time."
"The most valuable feature of TIBCO Scribe is the connectors available to various products."

Cons

"The learning curve takes time compared to webMethods."
"I'd like to see a new cloud approach in the next release. They need to work on integrations, stability and management issues on their cloud platform."
"The Business Studio tool can be improved, which is the tool for designing the processes. Improving the Business Studio tool will make this solution more stable. It has a steep learning curve, and it is pretty tough to learn."
"Could be more user friendly in the development area."
"Cloud fitness is lacking"
"I don't think I would recommend this solution to others."
"The cost of this product is too expensive for smaller companies or those with a small number of integrations."
"The cost of this product is too expensive for smaller companies or those with a small number of integrations."
"The solution should provide better documentation and scenario-based samples."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost depends on the components required."
"It is a bit expensive for medium-sized companies. If you are migrating from the current version to the container-supported version, it is quite expensive. The existing licensing will not work because the product platform itself is different."
"I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
"The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
"TIBCO BusinessWorks is a very expensive solution."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"Licensing scheme is too rigid"
"TIBCO licensing is yearly and very costly for a company like ours."
