Pros
"FortiGate Secure SD-WAN includes best-of-breed next-generation firewall (NGFW) security, SD-WAN, advanced routing, and WAN optimization capabilities, delivering a security-driven networking WAN edge transformation in a unified offering.""Fortinet FortiGate is a security device. It can optimize security on the networks of a company. It actually protects the company from attacks from outside. With FortiGate, you can categorize the users. You can create a group of users that can access all of the websites for their work. You can limit other users' access.""The interface is very good.""The product is easy to use and is stable. The SV1 functionality is a benefit.""It's a user-friendly firewall. Most of the tasks are very simple. It's simple to configure and troubleshoot this firewall.""There are great templates, so you don't have to customize them if you don't want to. You do have the option to custom create some folders and some reports, however, with what is there, you don't really need to go through extra effort, as they already give you a lot of predefined views of reports and so forth.""It has improved our security capabilities.""The main reason why I purchased the particular unit was that it had good reviews and what other people were saying as far as its completeness and its leading capabilities in terms of endpoint security was very good."

"Web Filtering and Application Filtering saves a lot of my bandwidth and improves the user's productivity.""The product is worth the investment.""The product is easy to maintain.""It is very easy to use.""The main features I have found best are the load balancer and ease of use.""The VPN is excellent on the solution.""I like the SSL VPN connection. Cyberoam works well for controlling users and authenticating their connection to the internet.""I like Sophos Cyberoam UTM as a security component or device for organizations. Performance-wise, it's a satisfactory solution, and it works okay. It also has good features."

"Content blocking for websites is the most valuable aspect of the solution.""The most valuable feature I have found to be the reporting function.""it's user-friendly, not complex.""We've had good experiences with technical support.""The multifactor authentication is helpful because whenever the user wants to connect to the firewall, they have to use the authenticator before they can access it.""The solution is very easy to use and straightforward.""Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend it for small to mid-sized customers.""Sophos offers great disk encryption, anti protection, and the interface is very user-friendly."

Cons
"We would like to see a better training platform implemented.""There are some cloud-based features that could be much more flexible than they currently are.""It needs to improve its ISP load balancing.""Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having better visibility. Palo Alto has better visibility.""Fortigate's hardware capacities could be improved.""Lacks training for new features.""Difficult to add or define, and not that easy to configure and manage.""The logs need to be better. They need to be more visible and easier to access."

"The setup is a bit complex, so we needed help from a consultant.""I had an issue when I was trying to stop a user from using too much bandwidth while I was using Azure, I was not able to stop them.""The following could be improved: Web Filtering using wildcards; clarity regarding the firewall rules; granular reporting features.""The price is obviously a more sensitive area to focus on.""Once in a while, an unwanted email will slip in. You have to set your parameters to avoid that happening, but once in a while, an email has slipped past firewall. Once you update the firmware, you notice that it doesn't happen. If an email slips in, I get a little bit worried. I do get the report, but you just don't want that situation happening in the first place.""It isn't missing anything.""In my experience the solution can be easier to configure with more documentation, we need more training.""The reporting should be improved as well as the backup."

More Sophos Cyberoam UTM Cons →

"While it is a secure solution, I believe it could be improved.""They need to allow their solution to integrate with other products and not just other Sophos solutions.""Let's say I set up a rule to block users from accessing YouTube or Facebook. The rule will only block the HTTP traffic, which is non-secure traffic... The problem comes when you are trying to block, or allow, similar traffic that uses HTTPS. You have to create a certificate and import it into the users' web browsers, whatever they are using... The problem occurs when you're dealing with roaming users who use laptops and have to move between different sites that have different types of policies applied to them. You have to import all sorts of certificates from each site into their browser. Doing so will most probably conflict with something else that is totally irrelevant and cause a problem.""There is an area that is very specific to our setup, where working tools you cannot easily establish a VPN between two internal networks.""The VPN features can be improved. Due to covid-19, we have a lot of employees that work from home and we need better VPN capabilities.""The initial setup is not straightforward.""Scalability it is a bit limited. We did a sizing exercise before the purchase. But that was just to fit our current needs. There was no room for having an option to upgrade the device. The only option that we have if we are grow in the near future, is to go for another model with higher specs, which is actually more expensive. In other words it doesn't have that modularity .""All of the options should be available when I renew my subscription for the year. As it is now, there are some limitations."
