The analytics and reporting can be a bit overwhelming. I love the dashboards, but I find that I need to better understand PowerQuery—specifically when to turn it on and off and its limitations. It's similar to SharePoint in that regard. As a former SharePoint instructor, I know it like the back of my hand. The best thing about SharePoint is that it can do whatever you want; the worst part is also that it can do whatever you want. You really need to know what you want before diving in. Most people usually have a good idea of what they need. SharePoint offers a lot out of the box, but you can customize it further if you wish. However, customization often requires hiring someone, which can be risky since you never know if it will work as intended. On the other hand, PowerQuery can help bridge some of those gaps within Singularity. The challenge arises when you want to incorporate what you've done into dashboards and charts, as there are limitations. For instance, I want more clickable drill-down options that allow me to filter on specific sections of the data, but that's currently not possible. It’s not to say that improvements won’t come in the future; it's just that it feels a bit early at this stage. Additionally, I find some navigation features frustrating, like the back button in certain contexts. For example, if you open PowerQuery from a chart, it doesn't open in a new window or tab. Clicking the back button takes you all the way back to the previous state, causing you to lose whatever progress you made. However, I'm actively providing this feedback to my partner, Pro Circular, through whom we access SentinelOne. They take our input seriously, and I've been sharing my observations. They have their own views but are addressing the issues I raise. It's good to see that suggestions occasionally lead to updates and improvements.

Automated security monitoring increases efficiency, but market visibility needs improvement
I am currently evaluating Stellar Cyber Open XDR in terms of their support. I do not see any major areas for improvement as of now. Their support is good, and the team is small, enabling them to cater to everyone effectively. While I have not encountered significant drawbacks so far, market penetration is challenging due to the product's newness, despite its flexibility and customization features. I find their user interface to be quite good.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The platform is user-friendly, easy to administer, and aligns well with GDPR requirements, which is crucial for us."
"We collect a lot of telemetry from Singularity Complete."
"The most valuable feature is the quick response to attacks."
"The solution has helped reduce our alerts."
"The most valuable feature is the automatic remediation."
"The most valuable aspect, in any scenario, was the rollback feature."
"I work in vulnerability management, and for me, at the moment, its automation is most valuable. For the SOC team, incident visibility would be most valuable, but for me, it is automation."
"Being able to keep track of the endpoints and the data that is available from the endpoints is valuable. We can see the patch levels, whether Windows endpoints are active or inactive, and who is the last user that was logged on. We get a lot of granular information that is valuable even what we are not talking from a security standpoint."
"Stellar Cyber Open XDR offers these functionalities at a more affordable price, making it easier for me to position it with price-sensitive customers."
"It can integrate with almost any cybersecurity tool available in the market."

Cons

"Having an additional logic layer could improve the solution, mainly because I run multiple systems with different layers. For example, if I'm running a very important server with this agent, and that server gets infected, I may not necessarily be sure that I want to shut it down right away. Maybe I want to isolate some of the connectivity but not do the entire security remediation automatedly or curtail network access type of activity."
"In terms of improvement, they should work on agents' updates because that is not a strong part. It's not their strong point. It's not straightforward to upgrade agents. I send them questions about it. They already worked on this and they promised that in the next release that they will show me their solution for it. But this year I have had complaints about agents' updates, that they aren't clear."
"Also, it didn't have much incident management built in."
"An area for improvement in SentinelOne is the search feature. You can't go beyond twenty thousand events, which ruins the task because it isn't enough when you're doing your investigation."
"Improvements for SentinelOne's Singularity Complete could include adjusting pricing for specific markets, ensuring affordability, and better alignment with customer expectations in those regions."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete is the best EDR in the market, but it will evolve, though I have concerns about using US partners in Europe due to the geopolitical context. It is better to work with European companies."
"I would appreciate it if they would consider providing a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report that goes beyond just application vulnerabilities."
"Interoperability with other SentinelOne solutions and other third-party tools is an area where you can run into some issues. Because of the way the agent works, there are sometimes things that are blocked or prevented from happening that are not identified as a threat, and therefore, not alerted in the console. Sometimes, we do have to dig through the logs, run tests, and adjust the whitelisting or exclusions to make sure that other applications will run properly."
"I would rate the stability at about five to six. The platform requires some fine-tuning, especially when integrating data sources and creating connectors."
"Support is an issue because they have a limited number of resources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for SentinelOne Singularity Complete is competitive."
"Its pricing is competitive."
"I find the licensing cost for SentinelOne Singularity Complete fair."
"When we were checking out different platforms, we did get a price from Microsoft, and it was unreasonable. SentinelOne was definitely reasonable and worth the money."
"Their pricing was extremely competitive. That is why we stayed with them so long. We are renewing at the end of next month. We have already put in the approval. It is all set to go. We are renewing for another year or so year over year. It has been a very effective product, and it has been priced very competitively."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete is reasonably priced."
"Its cost is similar to Trend Micro, but the protection is much better."
"While SentinelOne Singularity Complete carries a higher price tag than some endpoint security solutions, customers find its robust features and return on investment justify the cost."
"It’s a single license platform."
