Integration work has streamlined cross-application automation and supports faster development
Regarding how SAP Integration Suite can be improved, we have something called pre-packaged content, such as standard flows or inbuilt adapters. If we had something called Groovy script for most of the scenarios, it would be very useful. We have some standard scripts for the basic scenarios, such as payload logging, that are frequently usable. For such things, if we had the pre-built scripts, it would be very easy for the developers to reuse them in very common scenarios or requirements and make the work very fast. That would be really helpful for the developers. Regarding additional features for SAP Integration Suite, I think it is good as of now and nothing much needs to be improved because we can see all the expected features. We have the open connectors, cloud connectors, API management, and everything is there. We have the Integration Advisor, and I feel it is good. The only thing I was expecting is pre-built scripts, Groovy scripts, which would be helpful for the developers to speed up the work. Since coding is not manual and we are getting it from ChatGPT and it is all AI, if that is integrated into the tool, it would be very nice and easy for the developers.

Exceptional support and reliability drive optimal data flow and integration
The features of SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite that I found most valuable are related to entity flow. We can find the entity flow to be very useful so we can grab the flow accordingly. There is no disturbance in the connections, and it is very clear to check the connection flow with applicable queues. When comparing to other applications, SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is the easiest way to understand the application. I have also worked on the cloud services where SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite is moving to cloud. I have worked on cloud services where the mapping part is in the cloud itself, along with the connection setup.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is easy to use."
"SAP Integration Suite's event-driven architecture has helped automate processes by providing better scalability, performance, and organization compared to point-to-point methods."
"The SAP Integration Suite can work with different authentication methods. It supports physical authentication, certificate-based integration, and mTLS authentication. This allows customers to choose the best integration approach based on their policies and procedures. Additionally, the suite offers both push and data integration capabilities."
"The features in SAP Integration Suite, such as the API management and the feasibility to connect with the on-premise systems using the Cloud Connector configuration in BTP Cockpit, are very flexible to work with."
"The technical support services are good."
"The most beneficial feature for our clients is the easy access to their information, achieved effortlessly through integration."
"The most beneficial feature of SAP Integration Suite for our operation is its capability to enable API-based cloud applications to integrate seamlessly with SAP S/4HANA."
"It's a very robust solution and it's very configurable. Before this product we would use an ESB-type of solution which required us to write code and go through a process. We can configure the SEEBURGER solution much more easily, instead of writing code... It can handle large files very well."
"The solution helps us automate processes, more on the insurance side. Where they used to have to babysit monthly files, because of size, they don't have to do that with SEEBURGER BIS. They just run the monthly process. Files get collected, translated, and sent to the proper systems, so the babysitting is gone."
"We had a requirement for transferring data to Amazon S3 buckets but we did not have a solution in our shop for large data transfers to Amazon S3. We worked with SEEBURGER and created a framework solution and now, using that solution, we can configure the transfer in an hour or two and enable it to go to existing or new S3 buckets."
"The platform has been very consistent and responsive."
"The solution is flexible when it comes to adding integrations, it is much easier to use than the other tools we have to move the files, and across the board, we can move files in a short amount of time compared to our other existing tools."
"Of all the projects where people have come to me, I can't remember having to say, "No, we can't do that.""
"When orders come in they go into our ERP system directly, so there is integration there."
"If SEEBURGER plans to do something, they will meet their target; we haven't been disappointed by them at all."

Cons

"In PIPO, there were complex and effective tools to measure performance and how messages were processed, but Integration Suite still does not have solid reports that are useful for evaluating and understanding possible bottlenecks."
"The instances are costly."
"They could provide graphical data for over-viewing metrics such as payments, receipts, creditors, and refunds."
"The product's UI could be faster."
"The setup process for the SAP integration Suite is not straightforward. It involves some technical aspects and can be complex."
"I believe there are areas where SAP Integration Suite could be improved, such as enhancing message transformation capabilities and simplifying conditional routing features compared to the on-premise tool SAP PO (Process Orchestration)."
"I have faced a few issues with the CPI Helper, which is an extension I was using to enable the trace and check the step-by-step flow and simulation inputs and outputs."
"Their traditional model is a vendor flow. We are looking to do a customer-based flow, which which require significant development from SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS)."
"We don't have much access to the logs or what's happening, so we have to log a ticket with SEEBURGER and we only get a message that something has failed, often very generic and sometimes in German."
"Difficult in handling large amounts of data, like when the file has more than 100MB in size."
"The cost of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) can be considered high."
"I find the solution quite confusing to use, especially when looking at the tree structure."
"We had issues with stability. The system is not always stable and you could have a problem at any time without notice."
"We don't have much access to the logs or what's happening. So we have to log a ticket with SEEBURGER. We only get a message that something has failed... we have to open a ticket with SEEBURGER for them to tell us exactly what the issue is... I would like us to be able to be more self-sufficient."
"Some of the functionality for retriggering documents, where you have to step through a termination process and then retrigger it, versus just being able to restart or retrigger more easily, is a bit challenging, depending on the scenario."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate its pricing a five out of ten."
"It is inexpensive for smaller businesses and expensive for larger businesses."
"I'm not well-versed in the details of pricing and standard licensing for SAP Integration Suite as I primarily focus on technical aspects. As far as I know, clients can choose between different levels of offerings based on their messaging frequency and business requirements, with premium levels offering more features and customization options."
"The way they have their licensing structure set up, they have a lot of different modules. For us, we did not really know if we were licensed for certain things or not. We had to reach out to them multiple times to tell them that we were looking for this or that capability. We had to buy licenses for different things at different points in time, not knowing that we could have it bundled initially."
"I have had exposure to other big vendors over the years and would have to say the pricing is pretty typical. They all fall into a common pricing range, at least the bigger vendors: Axway, IBM Sterling, Globalscape, and SEEBURGER. They all fall into that mid-tier pricing. So, SEEBURGER is commensurate with other large integration vendors operating in this space. Maybe it is lower than some of the really high-end ones. You can get some of these high-end transactional messaging integration systems, like TIBCO, that tend to be kind of on a higher echelon of pricing. I would say SEEBURGER is more mid-level."
"The cost-based model is slightly different now in SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS). They changed the licensing, based on adapters and other things. In the old style of licensing, the whole suite was one license..."
"I did a review of other options out there, as we moved into the future and our SAP implementation, that this would be the right solution. It was very comparable to other manage services out there. Thus, there wasn't any clear-cut reason to go in another direction."
"Our licensing model is based on transactions. We have a base service contract which is priced against a volume of transactions and another volume of individual transactions, which are covered by one service agreement. Then, we have development services on top of that. Our annual spend is around £80,000. It's about mid-priced, as there are some cheaper alternatives out there and some more expensive ones. It's neither cheap nor expensive. It's somewhere in the middle."
"The pricing seems to be competitive and the maintenance is standard."
"I've heard that the solution is cheaper when compared to other products in the market."
"The cost of the SEEBURGER Business Integration Suite (BIS) can be considered high. We have elected to have SEEBURGER consulting do the installation. Licensing could also be considered high. However, one would be hard pressed to find another product that does all that this one does."
